It's going to be a rock 'em, sock 'em night here in the mid south. All flights are grounded in the entire region with the exception of emergency craft. Tornado watches up until early morning. Major tstorms with lots of hail expected - some of it large.

Going to be a long night here and I plan to stay up for it. We've had special weather statements for the last three days on this system and there is no way I plan to be sleeping and caught off guard.
 
Yeah, it was 45 at the beginning of last week and since Friday it has snowed around 20 inches. So weather calls for a 30% chance of snow tonight, it's coming the hell down. Flakes big enough to sign your name on.

it was 90 yesterday.
why can't it just be 70-80 every day. like in Hawaii.

oh how i miss Hawaii...
 
It's just a battle between winter and summer and as we know, summer wins out in a few weeks. Got to 82 here yesterday and now it is in the upper 40s - nearly 25 degrees below normal at this time of year for us. Should be in the low 70s by middle of next week - in other words, about normal.

Not looking forward to summers here. Mid 90s to lower 100s most days with plenty of humidity. Ugh.
 
hah, yeah, sounds like VA weather.

i imagine we're getting the cold air tomorrow that you have today?
 
After a relatively cool spring across much of the lower 48 (especially here), the temps are now starting to rise and the severe weather is spreading.

Devastating tornados around OKC have killed at least 37 in the last few hours - about two dozen children at an elementary school. Death toll could go higher. Countless number are injured.
 
This news coverage is incredibly depressing to watch.

Obviously it's horrible whenever lives are lost in a disaster, but when so many innocent children are among the fatalities it is especially heart wrenching. :( My prayers tonight and the coming days will be going out to those parents and everyone affected by this disaster.

Yes, it was...we had to turn it off about 10 pm, I just couldn't watch anymore. I couldn't even see a wall of any structure standing... Thoughts and prayers to all the families of that community.
 
Oklahoma took another hard hit yesterday afternoon and last night.

That activity is moving to this region today and tonight. We have watches up in this area until the early morning hours of Sunday.

Midwest and Great Lakes region under many watches for today and tonight.
 
All of a sudden, it is like night time here. Small tumbleweeds are blowing everywhere. Massive thunderstorms about to roll through. Got about twelve hours of heavy rain knocking on the door.
