Since our kitchen is being remodeled I've been buying a lot of meals at this sub shop that is attached to a gas station. It's actually really good, the best food you will ever have out of a building with a sign that reads "Live Bait".

It's family owned, my wife said the woman's name is Lucy. So I've been calling her Lucy for months, she has known my name for a while and I had to start addressing her by name. Well turns out Lucy was someone else who is no longer there, this woman's name is Nancy and she never corrected me.

Sounds like a murder cover up to me. When did Lucy disappear and how did Nancy take her place? More importantly, why does she smell of pod.

That's right! When I was bartending in the 80's I spent many days for a few years fishing Tridelphia, I got my minnows from the Asian guy that owned that store back them. I finally had an infamous Sunshine Burger a few years ago and it lived up to the hype. They don't sell minows anymore, probably just worms and worms are for beginners and amateurs.

That's exactly what I remember and what I was told! Some Asian family owned the place back then. I believe there's an Asian spice in the "secret" dry rub they use. Maybe it's just "Ajinomoto umami seasoning." :D I've been told it's made up of seven spices. Three of them are salt, black pepper, and white pepper. Not sure of the other four. And, of course, the local beef comes from Mount Airy. I moved into the immediate area in 1986. Yeah, the reservoir near there is pretty cool. There are several newish beer breweries nearby too.

Where you live is similar to where we live. It's country for sure but like you have Olney we have Mt Airy 8 minutes away and a few small shopping centers near us as well. I could never live far out where you had a 40 minute round trip for a quart of milk.

Yes - I agree 100%. We love living here, especially since they just finished the bypass. No more traffic! Lots of tall trees. Hilly. Rural. Quiet. HT is five minutes away.

That's Sugarloaf Mountain on the horizon:

Is there a sugarloaf mountain in every state?

Is it like Springfield?

I know there's one in Maine new hampshire and massachusetts.

I haven't found my shower curtain yet. 😄
But I'm enjoying a Guinness draught out of the can ( haven't unpacked glassware either) with a nice toke.
Life is good today.
