Random NFL Thoughts

Depends on how it’s structured. I have been able to use the online-only version which is way cheaper than the total NFL Sunday Ticket package for the last 3 or 4 years. If it’s $300-$400 for the all games package I may have to pass. It’s just not worth it to get a handful of games I couldn’t otherwise see and a ton of games I won’t watch.

If the NFL gave a damn about its fans and wasn’t just interested in gouging them, they’d offer a ‘my team only’ package. Seems like single game Pay Per View is also an option they should offer. I won’t hold my breath.

This is the way. Otherwise I will continue with alternate methods.

I 'think' i 'heard' somewhere that this was not only on the table, but the direction it was going to go. Teams would be available a la cart, or the entire package for ALL games.

It would only make sense with the ability we have to subscribe to a single channel streaming service now (HBO, Paramount, CBS... etc). Everything has location services now, so it would be very easy to black out the game in the televised markets... it just makes too much sense.

Derek Carr has been benched....

In case you're wondering about cap ramifications, they can get out of a MASSIVE extension VERY easily if he's traded (not likely) or released within 3 days of the Super Bowl

I heard all this Carr mess today. What I don't get is why is he stepping away from the team? That really concerns me about what his mental state is moving forward. Obviously he would be one of the QBs this organization would look at as a veteran QB to bring in, so I am taking an interest in this situation. But not being with the team the rest of the year really makes me wonder how much his heart is in playing football.

I don’t know what is going on there, but Josh McDaniel has don’t enough bizarre questionable things in the past for me to believe he, not Derek Carr, is the one with issues. You have star players beyond Carr publicly chirping now too including their best offensive players.

I wanted them to get Carr before he signed his big deal. Someone is going to get a QB upgrade when it looked like he was a Raider for life prior to this latest nonsense. And if you are a vet QB looking at how Carr is getting humiliated, how excited are you to entertain a free agency offer from the Raiders now?

Carr said in 2021 that he would likely quit rather than play for a team other than the Raiders. Doesn't mean he will stick with that, of course, but as it currently stands, I'm not convinced he is "available" even if he isn't a Raider.

They’ll cut him before they have to pay him in February. I think it’s unlikely he wants his career to end like this and his loyalty to the Raiders probably feels different about now. He is going to be the top FA QB unless Brady decides to test the market again.

Possible, Boone.

He is also 31 and will be 32 before the NFL drafts again.

Would I take him? Probably, but he is apparently struggling in his first year of McDaniel's offense so I don't see him being potentially brilliant here in Turner's, which is notoriously hard to pick up.

I would prefer we give Howell a chance and/or draft another. We’ve not been very productive finding a guy via FA :) I think Carr has had a very nice career but you never know how any QB will fit in a different situation.

Refs are doing all they can to make sure the bums win.

This POS should be suspended and get an eye-popping fine for this BS.

He celebrated a second time doing a "sleep pose" while foles was being tended to. Absolutely disgusting

I think that player died right there...

I'm praying I'm wrong

I’m afraid something I’ve said was an NFL inevitability given the increasingly violent nature of pro football may have just happened. Terrible.

I've never seen this before in football. CPR?

That wasn't even that hard of a collision....you just never know.

I think he probably took a blow directly to the chest and probably sent him into asystole or vfib
