Couple of other tidbits of info on ESPN for those that haven't read it. First they did an article comparing all the playoff contenders to historic teams...
"Washington Redskins
Similar to: 1994 Detroit Lions
A lot of fans questioned how good the Lions really were when they won the NFC Central in 1993, but they were back in the playoff picture a year later and snuck into the postseason with a wild card despite finishing third in their division. They did this with a strong offense lifting up average special teams and below-average defense despite a very difficult schedule. The DVOA splits for the Lions were 8/21/16 on offense, defense and special teams against the toughest schedule in the NFL that season. This year's Washington splits are 4/25/15 while playing the league's third-toughest schedule. Detroit fans didn't know if former fourth-round pick Scott Mitchell was really worth big money at quarterback, or if he was just succeeding because of great receivers such as Herman Moore and Brett Perriman. Sound familiar, Washington fans? And while Robert Kelley and Chris Thompson will never remind anyone of Barry Sanders, the 2016 Redskins rank third in run offense DVOA -- not far behind the 1994 Lions, who ranked second. (Surprise: they were behind Pittsburgh, not Dallas, with Emmitt Smith and the Cowboys ranked third.)"
And then a ranking of the health of all the playoff contenders. We were 11th out of 13...
"11. Washington Redskins
IR: 11 (Tied for No. 13/NFL)
Weighted impact of missed games: 8.299 (No. 19/NFL)
Tight end Jordan Reed reportedly will try to play Sunday against the Giants despite a shoulder injury that has clearly hindered his play over the past four weeks. Reed has only two catches over that period, during which the Redskins are 2-2 with four passing touchdowns -- fewer than 21 other teams. The Redskins' defense is also in rough shape this week. They're down two veteran safeties, DeAngelo Hall (ACL) and Donte Whitner (quadriceps), and fellow safety Su'a Cravens (upper arm) has yet to return to practice. But Reed's condition is the most concerning. The Redskins' offense isn't the same without him."
