Once again, there was pressure. On a second-and-9 from the Lions’ 30-yard line, left guard Shawn Lauvao allowed his man to get through, forcing Cousins to slide to his left. As he did so, Cousins kept his eyes downfield. That was key because Cousins was knocked back and started falling, but just before his butt hit the turf, Cousins flipped a pass to Thompson who gained 8 yards.
