Just observing how many fans are seemingly afraid to expect more success.

If I thought the team, owner, coaches, players, etc.. were not trying to win everything, all the time, I'd stop watching. Like I did the Orioles.

And yes, I expect them to. Always.

Fans? I only wish they would.

Expecting them to do all they can to win every game is a given. It is not exclusive of understanding the reality that this team is still a ways away talent wise. Not winning more games this year than last is not necessarily an indictment that the team is not moving in the right direction. It's ok to understand that and exercise patience with the plan McL has in place. You can expect them to win the Super Bowl, but I'm not wrapping myself up in unrealistic expectations that only lead to higher levels of disappointment. I expected that of the Gibbs I teams because they earned it. I think McL can get this team back to that, and I'm willing to be patient while he executes his plan.

Talent wise, all you gotta do is be the hot team heading into the playoffs. The most talented team doesn't always win the Super Bowl.

I am not "wrapped up" in unrealistic expectations. But they are high. Why? Because I don't fear "higher levels of disappointment".
Fishing teaches that.

Which isn't really different from what Henry or I have said, aside from how much expectation we place going in. As fans, whether we chose to have high expectations or temper those expectations has no impact, and is a personal choice of fandom. We all agree the team should expect great things each year internally. That does have an impact.

Humility is a good choice of words too.

I used the fishing idea in that, based on history, unless you're totally freakin awesome, the cast to catch ratio is pretty damn dismal. Knowing that, you'd think we'd shy away from the disappointment of it all.
Yet, I believe each cast will be perfect, resulting in a catch. Even the ones that wind up in a tree, started with the expectation of great success.
I expect to kill a monster buck every season.
I expect to throw a strike every frame.
I expect us to win the East.
And a playoff game.
Or two.

Leading up to the draft, all of the pundits, boards and insiders were clamoring for the need of Dline talent, given the fact that all claimed that this draft class was virtually overflowing with that need. Don't you think that old Snyder would've pushed for getting 'one or more of those' to appease the crowd and succeeded.

No one had a hint (publically) that Reed's extension was in the works. Is that the Old Snyder MO?

Sure it could be some 'PR ploy', don't know but as long as the team is allowed to develop into something, I don't care.

I do think that Snyder has come along much further in how he handles his team than those who chose to perpetuate his 'image' and come across as sharing strikingly similar traits to those they rail against.

I laugh when I see people cry about our most recent draft.

I say this as a friend. Why not just take a year off from the Skins, and go follow Cleveland for the year? You love RG3. That might make you happy.

If Cleveland does well you may want to stick with them. If RG3 gets snapped into five pieces in the second game of the year, you can always come back to the Skins.

You seem to hate everyone in the FO. Why not just follow a team that would make you less miserable? Life is too short.
