Reggie Diggs, WR, Richmond
Although Diggs (6-4, 200) contributed during his first two years on campus, he exploded onto the scene in his first year as a full-time starter in 2014, garnering second-team All-Colonial Athletic Association honors with 85 catches for 1,157 yards and seven touchdowns. Even if he doesn't get much separation from his man downfield, his height and jumping ability allow him to go up top to snag the pass. If he uses his frame to beat corners down the sideline again this season and performs well during an all-star game in January, he should earn the respect of coaches and scouts alike.

Ejiro Ederaine, OLB, Fresno State
Injuries to both shoulders limited Ederaine in 2014, yet he still managed to start all 14 games, making 64 tackles (12.5 for loss). An excellent athlete with NFL size (6-3, 234), Ederaine moves well in coverage, stands strong against the run and also attacks the quarterback when healthy (10 sacks in a second-team All-Mountain West 2013 season). However, if teams aren't comfortable with his medical situation, he might be relegated to a later pick than his talent indicates.

I am left wondering if we are in the market for a trade for a talented DL/NT. This draft really has me scratching my head.

Yea El the lack of pursuit of D linemen has me a bit perplexed too. Gallette must be doing REALLY well, even with him at peak performance level we still need interior help.

I recall Beathard had many a head scratching draft picks too.

As long as the team wins, it doesn't matter.

If you trust the GM,(I do) and you trust the head coach,(Not completely. But I'm trying) then we have to let it play out.

Personally, I kinda like this draft. And the more I think about it, the more I like it.

I also wonder if Ax's earlier thought, (that this years cap limitations, figure into this strategy quite a bit) isn't more true than even he thought. And as you all know, Ax is a brilliant man.

Fewer draftees require less cap room to get them all signed. And, if we don't intend on extending Garcon & Jackson's contracts, we don't have a lot of room to spare. Even after cutting Roberts, and possibly Culliver loose, we still need to have some dry powder available during the upcoming season in case of injury.

Stockpiling picks for next year when we will likely have more available space doesn't seem like a bad idea. Especially if McGruden feel good about the roster as it stands right now.

I can't say you're wrong, but I'm not sold on the idea of cap space when 4th 5th and 6th round picks make so little. We are talent bereft on the interior of our DL and we desperately need a center to step up. Looks like we got a good player in round 5 with Ioannidis, but giving away a 4th round pick in a draft so "talented" in DL? For 4 years they will make minimal money against the draft...we really needed to draft at least 2 sure things for the interior DL.

I won't question the 1st 3 rounds, they chose players that appear to be worth the value of the pick. However, the rest o our draft seems quite odd.

But you are 100% correct on one thing...we will know soon enough.
