Random Commanders Thoughts

It's all good Boone. I don't mind defending my position. It's just a position I hope to not have to defend much longer. :) Stoked for the game tomorrow. We are rebuilding for real for the first time since Snyder's owned the team. Not half measure attempts to win now. If MCCl can keep from being derailed by personal matters, we have a real chance of seeing a team built properly. Is Gruden the guy? Is Kirk the Guy? Heck if I know the answer to those and many other questions. But I'm cautiously optimistic that whatever the answer, we'll move forward the right way. This may be the year we look back on and say they finally got it right. Building through the draft. Focusing on the lines and some big ass uglies to anchor it all. Who the heck knows. But tomorrow is a new season, and I will be happy and hopeful for as many games as I can.

To be honest, RGIII takes all the news from others, but I believe that no news is good news. I was always reading about how RGIII did this, how RGIII did that, when he becomes a father, what charity he supports, what size shoe he wears, how he dresses, etc, etc, etc,. I would rather see him go to another rebuilding franchise, for the appropriate draft picks of course, and to put the necessary work in Cousins.

The career of our last great QB hope ended how? For those who can't remember, I am referring to Jason Campbell.

Also, I;m surprised Bates never got named in the original 53-man roster, but now that he has be promoted, I couldn't be happier. Hopefully, this is the start of a successful era.

I definitely think he can make it back. But not three weeks from now. Not six weeks from now. Just focus on getting better behind the scenes for the year. Then reevaluate with the HC at that time.

That's quite the warm welcome to all of the new coaches, draft picks and FAs that are playing here for the first time. It makes me furious. What a disgrace.

I was in transit yesterday and listened for a lengthy spat to a radio jock go on and on...ad pukem...about this story. naturally, he encouraged listeners to dial in and attack the fans who voiced these sentiments to the WaPO. what a piece of **** this radio jock was! the media has been non-stop destructive in its attitude and approach to the franchise, coaches and players. they have, in large measure, created and shaped this culture!

on a larger plane.....with all the values in life to wrap one's self around, getting vexed about how someone responds to the fortunes of a football team is one of the most pathetic measures of adult maturity I can think of. as long as an individual has staked out his/her own belief system and emotional commitment...why on Earth should they allow themselves to be sidetracked or emotionally rerouted by someone else's outlook? to me.....that WaPO article and the radio show I listened are simply symptomatic of a society that is in attack mode on everything - and individuals who can't tolerate difference much less discriminate what is truly important from what is...afterall...entertainment. that, in the end, btw, was what I found most distasteful about the whole Griffen drama. not that he failed to progress - he did - but the ease with which many people who have accomplished rather little in their own lives climbed on a bandwagon that personalized the commentary.

so...on to Coach Gruden!

16.5 million dollars. Can you imagine those headlines if he gets hurt playing meaningless safety for the scout team and we have to pay him?

Makes no sense at all. If you're going to play him at least let him play qb

I am/was a huge fan of him...but they just need to get him off the team so this shit can stop. I've never seen one guy keyed in on so much that I can recall. He's not even active and he's making main headlines.
 
Gotta go by box score but it's telling me Grudes is appropriately sticking to the run. Those chunks should be much larger by the 4th.

Are they calling BS penalties on us or are they that inept this half?
 
Great first half up to last few minutes, competitive game but a few too many penalties, turnovers.
Kirk showing some growing pains, run game substantial, Alf beasted, lost DJax on his first deep route.
D looked pretty good but still showed weakness in secondary, tackling should/will get better.
Disappointed in D line pressure
Penalties..... someone bribed the ref's after the half
Second half not the greatest for offense, Fins started looking more accomplished
 
Must have missed it but post game talking heads are liking one play when Jones, dragging tacklers still managed to truck Suh
 
Looked like a rebuilding club with it's first GM in 20 years taking the field.

Had some good and some bad things happen.

Kirk had his moments but didn't melt down when adversity came.

Schreff and Moses held up well for their first start on the right side and the defense didn't look Haslettish.

There's things to build off of here and I believe we are generally heading in the right direction.
