Am I wrong that Scott worked for Schneider in Seattle. He was GM in San Francisco. Am I high? Anyway you guys have fun, it quit raining I have to go back to work.

Again to make myself clear... I'm not serious when I question someone's sobriety by saying something like "are you high?" From this point on yall can consider that rhetorical. ;)

Scot has signed big name players for very good deals since being here and there is no chance or reason to believe he would pull a Vinny to get kam. Why would he even need to? Kam likes him, likes the team, likes the area, loves the player who's shoes he'd fill.

I'm just wondering why it's just so far fetched to believe it could happen. We did just sign a 12 sack guy to a 750k deal and a stellar NT to a 2yr 2 mil dollar deal. It's not like him reaching a deal with kam is like trying to get Brady and Peyton at the same time.

When I was looking into Chancellor, it said he was drafted in 10' so I thought there was an overlap. McCloughan left San Fransisco in March 2010... As I dug more, it appears he wasn't hired on by Seattle until June of that same season. That would appear that he was not the force behind drafting Chancellor, and it would appear I was wrong there... not too proud to admit that.

That doesn't mean he didn't potentially have a relationship with Chancellor, and could be a link between him and the Redskins.


I'm not trying to argue with you, just stating an opinion.

You can't build through the draft without draft picks.

Seattle is not going to trade Chancellor away for his backup that Seattle didn't bother to originally re-sign.

Chancellor will not take less money here than he did in Seattle. He may really want to come here, or, more likely (IMHO) he's mentioning the Washington Redskins because that's what high-profile players do when they want to get paid. Either way, he's not holding out for more money to sign somewhere else for less money.

McLovin has said he believes in building from the front back through the draft. Trading picks away to pay top dollar for a safety is pretty much the exact opposite of that.

So ... I seriously doubt Chancellor's coming here. And I don't think he should.
 
but, his backup only came here for the chance to start. he wasn't going to start in Seattle so if Kam comes here he can go back and start like he had a few times when they were hurt. Plus, Thomas is on the PUP list...he can't even play.

how do you know what he will and wont take? Nobody knows what money he wants or doesn't want for a chance to play where his idol did.

And why shouldn't he want to come here? That doom and gloom shit is for the fans, not players. he wants to win and there is a good chance we could be going in that direction looking at the directions that Scot took his other 2 teams.

If Chancellor secretly wants to take a massive pay cut for the privilege of playing for the Redskins, and Seattle is willing to trade their current starter for his former backup then, by all means, let's do it.

I seriously doubt any of that is the case, though. But maybe that's just me being crazy.
 
That is where I would lean towards shying away, is the wish to build through the draft. That being said... we did bring in 2 new safeties via FA this past offseason, so I think valid talent outweighs overall plans.

how do we know he'd take a massive pay cut? The Saints are paying Junior 12 mil (I think) this year. Why do we now all of a sudden overpay him? Is this the effects of Vinny creeping back in?

He isn't starting...he is sitting out and from the looks of things I haven't heard one word of negotiations between them. Maybe its just me but I would rather have Jerod start at least than a guy who doesn't want to start and then if forced to only plays. Reminds me of ol Goo Butt.

Its no more crazy than anything anyone has said. This will be his 5th year in the league..we aren't getting some long in the tooth player trying to cash in or come home for sentimental reasons like Clark did. If he came here he is the same guy who just jumped the LOS twice to block a kick. The ONLY thing Seattle can do right now is start fining him. But if that happens we all know it just makes it worse for negotiations and feelings.
 
I think if we can get him for a third or something, and the salary hit isn't crazy, we'd be crazy not to.

Having said that, I think the chances of all that happening in such a favorable manner for us are slim to none.
 
But why now? He's been in the league 4 full seasons now, and it's the 1st time (unless I missed something) that he's done this. He very well could hate training camp, not saying you're wrong, but it just doesn't seem to fit the past?
 
Chancellor is from Chesapeake or VA Beach, so may like some home cooking. I don't believe this. I could see him taking a pay cut to play for his former DC.

My guess is he wants the $$$$.

He's been in VA all off season, his new company has 757 in the name...why he wouldn't want to be home is beyond me

While I agree in building through the draft, and developing home grown players, you're always going to have free agent signings. You know as well as any you only can fill so many spots each year drafting, and that's a crap shoot in itself. Not like we didn't say bub by to a bunch of players, and need solid depth. No harm in fans talking about a player that may wind up on the open market.... Looks like we've picked up some solid additions, and our depth overall has gotten better. We have guys being developed on both sides of the ball that we drafted over the past 3 years now, what more do you want then that... a draft that thus far looks solid, good vet signings, and young guys we drafted being brought along.
