It may be meaningless in terms of determining whether we can play spoiler today or not, but it is never a meaningless game to me. Beating Dallas in a season like this is oh so important & sweeping them is even more important. Winning today would at least take a little more of the sting out of this season. So, that said....GO REDSKINS! BEAT DALLAS!
 
Keeping them from getting a bye makes them have to face another hurdle trying to get to the finish line.

If nothing else, I want to see Griffin continue to look competent at QB. And at some point, we really need to start showing some kind of home field toughness and advantage. So there's that...

IF the Seahawks and Cardinals were both to lose, and Dallas wins today, that would give Dallas the bye. So it's a longshot at best for them. We do have the chance to ensure they don't get a bye.
 
Actually, I hope D gets home field throughout. 4-4 at home and 8-0 on the road.

disagree. just because the redskins aren't a publicly traded Enterprise with voting shareholders doesn't mean the core functions of vision, goal setting, strategy, etc., etc, aren't visceral to success. the same requirements exist for privately held companies...just as does accountability....especially in the age of social media.
 
Al - you aren't reading my posts brother. I'm obviously saying the same thing. El is trying to turn it into a conversation about the definition of 'success'. I have written entire blog entries on where I think Snyder's focus and priorities have always been - and it's not been on building a winning franchise. But that's not how fans define success.

I have also written entire blogs on the dysfunctional nature of Redskins organization, starting at the top. Google 'Baldrige National Quality Award' and you'll get an idea of how far the Redskins organization is from a great company with a winning culture. Or just ask any of the gazillion former employees.

We're humming the same tune.
 
So when do we officially hear that Haslett won't be re-signed or will be fired or whatever you want to call it as long as he is gone? That's the first thing that needs to happen, and there is no need to wait on that.

Were the Redskins ever a suitor or a team in the running for Peyton Manning? And can you imagine having him for the past 3 years and ALL our draft picks? I know...I know....

We were but he wasn't interested AFAIO.

This is only related to the Skins in the way that it points to a FO dysfunction that is a result of ego trumping intellect, I think the Niners are in for a Redskins like run for the next decade or so...

1. Yesterday was another lesson in how “news” can get bent out of shape. What started out as a small group of reporters chatting with Kirk Cousins about where how he thought 2015 would go morphed into Internet headlines that he “demanded” a trade. I was there, he never did any such thing. He did say that it would be a difficult situation for him to deal with if he didn’t have a chance to compete with Robert Griffin III. But the word “trade” or anything like it never came out of his mouth. Be careful about basing anything on tweets and headlines.

2. The Redskins PR staff got Cousins on a conference call with reporters and he said that he was happy in Washington, that he hadn’t demanded anything, and that he’ll deal with whatever comes his way. Stories with what Cousins said were posted. Still, several hours later, a Google search for Cousins showed dozens of links to the inaccurate stories and scant mention of posts on what actually happened. Winston Churchill had the perfect quote for the situation: “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.”
