Random Commanders Thoughts

There might be a legit reason, but Lattimore really ought to be there. Tunsil too. I agree with Chris. Disappointing that they are no shows.

In the absence of the reasons they aren’t there…

Ran into a player training at the local high school who I won't name him or the team out of respect. Asked about him not being at OTA's and it was pretty simple answer. He and his whole family did a planned vacation which took him out of this time frame with the team. He communicated with the coaching staff and let them know what he was doing and at this time he is finishing up a 'training cycle' that his team knows about and he wanted to complete before showing up to the mandatory OTA. He did mention and the equipment was there that he does send info to the training staff so that have updated data on him. Kinda crazy to see it in action, but the NFL is no joke about the prep of their players.

I have no idea whats up with our guys, but like an old coach of mine used to say......I think its a nothing burger.

Watched a YouTube video that used the term....

Osama Bin Snyder

I approve
Greg Easterbrook used to just refer to him as Lord Voldemort.

I thought that was funny but not entirely accurate. Before his eventual death, Lord Voldemort was the most powerful dark wizard in recent memory.

Snyder wasn’t most powerful at anything. Like, literally nothing.

And this train of thought has led me to this favorite meme of mine.

Amazing that one trade for a wide receiver all of a sudden has ESPN and the talking heads gushing over Dallas potentially threatening Philly in the East.

There is something lacking in that squad that goes beyond talent. McCarthy gets credit for coaching regular season wins but when I see Dallas in games against good teams, they tap out quickly.

My family is mostly Giants fans and the wager for them in the East is the over/under on how many games Dak Prescott PLAYS in 2025, not how many he wins :clap2:

I think it’s more than just the trade for Deebo.

I think it’s Tunsil + Deebo + the entire offensive coaching staff coming back + probably a few of the draft picks.

They also seemingly have an upgraded secondary and look to be able to stop the run better.

And obvious Daniels in year 2.

So I think it’s a lot more than just the addition of Deebo.

As someone on the west coast who is inundated with 49ers news constantly and has seen them go through the same routine with some of their best players in contract years over what seems like the last 3-4 offseasons , it doesn't really bother me regarding McLaurin's contract situation. It will get done and in time for the important part of the preparation. Adam Peters came over from that organization which tends to drag these things out while both sides grind away at what is best for their respective "side." This is the first biggie for Adam Peters in this front office as far as looking to retain/extend one of the stars of the team. He's been through this process a lot by now. From Terry's side, this is likely the last big time contract he is going to get in the NFL. After this one he is likely looking at short filler contracts, taking it seasson-to-season, so he understands that he needs to advocate for the most he can possibly get while also wanting to remain on a team he sees real championship possibilities with.

That same sentiment doesn't apply to every player not showing up but I also know less about their specific situations, so it is tougher to even comment on them.

Terry gets the benefit of the doubt from me, he has earned it, but Tunsil and Lattimore not being there lends some credence to the questions we have heard about their character.

Well, based on their health and play from 2024 that Lattimore has the least breathing room.

We aren’t going to give him a new deal until he proves over 17 games that he can still bring it at a high level.

I hope this isn't the case, there is a part of me that can easily envision that our starting corners by the end of the season would be Amos and Sainristil and not because of injury. On the one hand (if they perform well) that would be awesome. It'd be a super young corp that could grow together. On the other hand, I'd like Lattimore to work out. I have to admit him skipping voluntary practices tipped the scales further towards the negative in my expectations for him.

These guys are all the same. They don’t want to play with the guaranteed money already paid under their deals.

They redid Deebo’s deal to give him a full guarantee for 2025.

I don’t know they are going to do that for Lattimore.

Beautiful accurate spirals 😍😍😍

In regards to the logo, I'm not opposed to a W logo, but I'm not fond of the current font. It's way too modern-looking. It looks like an expansion team font. Washington's current team was founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves, they became the Boston Redskins in 1933, and moved to Washington as the Washington Redskins in 1937. I would rather see a basic old-school font implying fundamental blood-n-guts football. In 1932, the NFL had only eight teams, and two of them, the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Staten Island Stapletons, no longer exist. Our team was in great company in the early years with the Bears, the Cardinals, the Packers, the Giants, and what would become the Lions. The logo should reflect or imply that, in my opinion. And yes, if we're going to eradicate the team name dating back to 1933 and exorcize the Indian Head logo dating back to 1932, the very least we could do is attach a feather to the logo as a subtle nod to our past.

Being Tunsils first opportunity with his new coaches and teammates, it is most disappointing he is not getting familiar with them.

I am guessing Lattimore wants the deal updates with more guaranteed money but honestly, he didn't do much to deserve it

I get that both are old vets that feel they deserve time off but dang, at least show up to make face and relationships with your team

I am going to keep my comments toward Lattimore to myself except to say that the only things he could do at this point to surprise me is to stay healthy, play well, and to be a positive addition to the culture/locker room.
