Random Commanders Thoughts

Seriously. He's now intentionally derailing any other conversations people are trying to have.

No, I'm not. But for some reason you enjoy trolling me.
You've been asked nicely by several people over a course of several days to stop talking about Heinicke in every thread and make your own. Yet you continue to ignore it and do whatever you want.

No, it's not me trolling you. It's me (and several others) calling you out.

I responded to someone who responded to me. I was not "derailing" whatever boring conversation you're having.

Create a thread of your own and everyone can do it from there. It's really not that complicated.

I'm not an advocate of in-season head coaching changes. You're not going to turn a season around like you can in hockey with a coaching change.

I wouldn't however object to firing of one or more coordinators or assistant coaches. Replace Ron at the end of the season.

Don’t worry. I’m done with this ridiculous conversation. Carry on.

Robinson needs to be eased back in to a full time player. The hype and story are over. Now we need production and results.

Agreed

To expect a guy coming off two gun shot wounds to be at full speed 3 days after he puts his pads on for the first time is ambitious

to expect it from a Rookie is more difficult

To expect it from a Rookie that hadn't taken a regular season snap yet was an impossible expectation.

You have the courage of your convictions if not the wisdom of understanding when told to create a dedicated thread. I'll give you that much.

Some might even say ‘foolish’…

Don't know why as a franchise, you allow all this hype and expectation to be put on Robinson?

Then to tell everyone you want to ease him back in only to work him more than Gibson? Ridiculous.

Of course, this is the same staff that thinks starting Milne at returner is a good thing....

As Waylon Jennings once sang: Stop the world and let me off....

The Robinson thing is really weird given that Gibson has been one of the most consistent guys on offense along with Samuel and Dotson. Not sure what Turner was thinking?

Yeah, kinda frustrating that we 'hear' no expectations or updates on Robinson until it's tweeted by Schefter the night before/morning of that he'll see 20 snaps. Rivera should, IMHO, been out front and controlled the narrative.

The problem is they bought into it to, otherwise he wouldn't have been treated as the lead back. I think they honestly went into this game like it week 1 for him... circumstance be damned.

Here's the other thing:

So you want Robinson to be a lead back...fine,ok. So what ever happened to using Gibson like Deebo Samuel?
Thought the idea was to get them both on the field and be multi-faceted?

Turner doesn't know what he wants to do. Everything is disjointed. Now, at 1-4,when does Ron step in(like last year) and tell Turner what he wants in this offense?

Does he even want to?

Actually there's a video on the Commanders website someone sent me. I don't want to link it here and give Snyder ad revenue, but basically Ron says that he doesn't like to tell coordinators what to do. Then he weirdly name-drops Sean McDermott
and Steve Wilks, and talks about how he treated them the same way and how great it worked out. He says his style is just to make some suggestions here and there, and hopefully they can pick up some of the ideas and run with them, but he wants them to basically run things. That's all well and good, but treating 3 years as training for an OC seems like it's out of line to me. Way out of line. There are other better prepared candidates for this position.

The video was weird though, it's awkward how he works in McDermott's name. Anyway I really don't want to give any revenue to Snyder so hopefully you take my word for it. I'm sure you've seen enough of Rivera looking awkward on camera at this point anyway.

I do wonder, if it's possible he's so closed minded that he doesn't actually consider using Gibby like Deebo. Like the throught had never crossed his mind. WE have talked about Gibby being that type of a guy, but I don't think I've ever heard Turner / Rivera suggest it (I may be wrong).

Is it completely possible that they are so locked in on their own genius, that WE see things possible with this offense that they cant?
