Random Commanders Thoughts

Cobb is also at the twilight of his career and making the most of being a #2 receiver. McLaurin is a great receiver, and I'm not taking that away from him or who's throwing the ball, but he's only had 7 touchdowns max in one season.

Alex Smith won under Andy Reid......did not here.
Trent Williams is still dominating...but not here
Kendall Fuller and breeland won super bowls...but not here

Thanks for admitting smith got better in green bay. I appreciate that.

I'd love to even sniff the playoffs on a regular basis like they do. Maybe quarterbacks would want to come here voluntarily instead of at the end of their careers or by trade.

My main point was that we didn't even do anything to keep these guys or groom them. Kyle, maybe. But, we screwed his dad over so much no son would stick around. We have had a bad culture for years and years, and now 3 of them made the playoffs this year

I want to hear YOU concede a good point - like ‘We won’t know if Matt Lefleur is a really good head coach or not until he’s leading a team that doesn’t have Aaron Rodgers under center’. :)

Lafluer also has stable ownership with no drama as an environment to work in. That also helps out alot.

Coaches here start off with a piano on their back before even dealing with on field issues.

Alex Smith went 11-5 here. Maybe QB matters.

Williams is a great player. He is in SF, he was here.

Fuller and Breeland "won super bowls." So have ... 55 championship teams, times 50 or so players ... about 2750 other guys.

Seems to me in order to have a meaningful discussion on the bolded point, we'd need to examine their unique situations at the time. Including some actual knowledge about what the Skins did or did not do out of the public eye to try to "keep or groom" them, and revisiting some of the context others have already provided above.

If I believed that I would admit to it. But. I don't. I think the man had potential when he was here and has become a winning head coach.

Definitely my point.

Lovin Cousins - if you want to pick a new one, we'll be glad to set you up :)

Dude - that went straight over my head... ????

It's from the movie Finding Nemo

The seagulls are portrayed as being extremely stupid and all they can say is "Mine" repeatedly

It's eluding to the fact that 1 little shred of Jerry saying he's not the happiest with Cooper, that now we can make a play for him...

I didn't see the movie so I'm not at all familiar with the plot or the characters, but the thing that gave it away for me, was the combination of curious looks from a crowd of curious birds wearing Washington hats, which basically matched the curiosity we see from most Washington fans every time another team is about to let a player go.

If the turds end up cutting Cooper I’d bet the WFT goes after him again. Be nice to have a wr take heat off of Turry, but remaining cap space would be good as gone.

I legit was quoting your post and going to poo-poo the idea that he gets cut....

then I looked at his contract.

IF I'm reading this correctly... they could save $18 mil in 22 by cutting Cooper this offseason, and could save $54M over the next 3.... that's insanity.

The thought of having Cooper and Turry in the same lineup is quite intriguing. Besides drafting the QB this is the next priority imho, getting a worthy #2. Just don’t know how much $ Cooper and TM’s new contract would impact filling the rest of the roster.
