What do you think of what they said about it being caused by a wrecker pushing him, and other cars? Less then 1/16 of an inch, to me it seems logical, but i could be completely wrong. What do you think Ken?

And I know you asked Ken, but I'll offer my opinion anyway, because you're not the boss of the message board OR the whole wide world. ;)

The story on .com said that RCR is attributing it to pushes from the wrecker, and congratulatory taps from other cars. I'm sure he's not the first winner to get either of those, so I'm inclined to call BS.

Also, NASCAR allows a very small variation to their tolerances. I forget the exact fraction, but if he was off 1/16th, it means whatever the allowance is, plus 1/16th.

They got caught. Several years ago, my car needed a push from behind to get through some snow. Pretty sure it didn't jack things up by whatever amount.

He did ask an expert, not some huffin' and puffin' half-marathoner wannabe.

But seriously, that is spot on and it is a virtual repeat of the non-called infraction at Richmond. They were warned and it cost him a championship this year (33 team won't recover from 185 in the hole).

Worst of all, it cost me some serious points. They will hear about it soon enough. Buffoons.

They might as well worry about you at this point. As you pointed out, they don't need to worry about running for a championship anymore.

I couldn't help it. I ended up listening to most of it on the way home, and caught the 4th quarter once I got here. In retrospect, I WISH I would've gotten a text that said, "Hey, don't bother." :(
 
Good job 00. I'm not a fan of Kyle Busch at all. He thinks he can do whatever he wants to on the track. The guy is talented I'll give him that but the way he races sometimes you can't really act surprised when something like this happens. Now when is Keselowski going to get his payback for Bristol?
 
Former NASCAR driver Shane Hmiel was in a bad crash and is in critical condition at an Indianapolis hospital. He was qualifying for a USAC race.
 
At the time that I am posting this message, Shane is about four hours into a surgical procedure that could take another three to four hours. I will update it later tonight.

Not sure if he will walk again, but the family is very hopeful. No matter what, the recovery period will be a long term thing.

Well that's certainly not good news.

What are his injuries?
 
The first surgery went as expected. There was a second surgery that was just completed a short time ago and it went beyond the expectations of the doctors. That is encouraging news. No other updates at this time.
 
Shane came out of angioplasty surgery a couple of hours ago and doctors discovered a torn artery. Surgery to repair it has been scheduled for Friday.

As I mentioned a few months ago, NASCAR would be going to enthanol at some point in 2011. Well, all three series will go to it in 2011 for the entire season and beyond.
