Phoenix moves up to the second race of the season and Fontana will be run in March or April.

That's a good move. Like we were talking about, the move to Phoenix helps avoid some of the early-season weather at other places. They're thinking like you are, Mike. Which in this case, is a GOOD thing. :)

Figured you'd understand that a rumor and fact are different. Roush was never in critical condition either.

For about 14 hours, he was considered "critical". His PR team chose to handle it a certain way.

However, if it pleases you, I can PM the NASCAR fans insider info when it comes and let you learn of news when the rest of the world learns of it.

Either way, your shots have never had an effect on me. Ever. That includes in person, should that happen, and on the internet.

Congrats to Marcos Ambrose on the NNS win. Well done, Taz.

Nice to see him get a win after the Sonoma mistake - really felt for him on that one.

Good to see Joey and Kevin getting along after the race.

Kez has the championship wrapped up.

Congrats, JPM.

Nice to see the 99 snag another top-5 too. Looks like they've found a little bit of much needed consistency.

Paging Mike! Paging Mike! Jr. has fallen to 16!

Brian..let's keep it above the waist bro. I get enough bs from the other 2 in here..ya know?

Ah, now I see where it is really coming from. Hey, I'll bring it down a certain number of notches. Fair enough?

Now, did anyone get the question/humor that Hog asked? Understand my hint?

He makes some good points and I agree with some it. Each of us would have our own idea as to what the schedule should look like though.

I'd like to see a road course in the chase. Darlington too. Close out with the Daytona 500.

Maybe NASCAR will slowly change things and we could have a respectable schedule in a few years. With the new, sportier cars on the way, NASCAR could get back to what is important and re-capture their fan base. Slowly but surely, I think that is happening.

Kevin Conway and the ExtenZe sponsorship has ended with Yates Racing. Tony Raines is taking that ride with no current sponsor. I'm hearing that Conway and his sponsor could be at RPM, perhaps before the season ends and most likely for 2011.

Jack Roush has lost the sight in his left eye.

Quality of life for jack means collecting checks and putting your name on products.

He's made his name and worked already..sorry for his eye but something tells me he is fine

Something tells ME you build performance street cars for a reason. Yeah, to sell them, sure, but I bet he doesn't mind driving them either. Lack of depth perception will put a big damper on that.

We all have our struggles. And no, Jack doesn't need us feeling sorry for him. But still. To lose use of an eye, or limb, or something like that is something you hope no human being would have to endure.

(And if I know you like I think I know you, you're probably thinking, "How bout our troops who suffer a loss like that and don't have his money?" And I'd COMPLETELY agree.)

Not trying to put words in your mouth, just making the preemptive point.

We interrupt the latest feud between these silly kids to bring you the news...

NASCAR is planning to take back a lot of engines after the race today for dyno testing, including start and parks and those who failed to make the race. NASCAR wants to see why there is a wide difference in speed and performance.

There is an outside chance that Red Bull could go to three teams. It depends on the team plans for Scott Speed.

Joie Chitwood III is the new president of Daytona International Speedway.

Roger Penske continues to insist that Sam Hornish will continue to have a ride in NASCAR. The 77 team currently lacks a sponsor for 2011.

Max Papis will be replaced by Casey Mears in the 13 car. The change will take place at Atlanta and beyond. Papis is expected to race full time in the truck series for 2011.

Jeremy Mayfield's lawsuit against NASCAR was not reinstated by the court. This likely ends any legal challenges that he has against NASCAR.

Former team owner Bill Stavola is back and plans to enter three races later in the season. Terry Labonte will pair with him again and pilot the #10 Chevy. They plan to race full time in 2011.

Still hearing that Marcos Ambrose is a strong candidate to drive the 9 car for RPM next season. If sponsorship issues can be resolved, the deal will go through.

Michigan observations...

Jr. certainly proved his lack of maturity after the race. If that had been KyBu, the Jr. fans would've been all over it and demanding point reductions, fines, suspensions, etc.

RCR continues to show that they could challenge for the Cup this year. 29 was strong - great race for that team.

HMS had two good cars today. The 24 had bad luck and could've challenged the 29 and 11 for the win. The 48 shot themselves in the foot with each pit stop. Before the final caution, the 48 took three laps to move from 14th to 6th. They made the wrong call in coming in again. Very un-Chad like and very un-48 like. They may not get the 5th if these lapses in judgment continues.

RFR continues to improve and made great strides today. In the next few races, we'll see if it is a trend or just good luck.

The same can be said for the 11 team - they made great strides today and we'll see if this is a trend or good luck as well.

Kyle Busch will make the chase, but he continues to make mental errors like we saw today. Instead of trying to overdrive the car, he needs to focus on giving the team an accurate assessment of the car during the race. Earlier in the season, he was doing well in that regard and needs to regain that focus for the chase.

Ryan Newman needs to realize that each lap is not the last lap. Either take the high groove (or lower) and race there. Let the faster car go by if there is more than 50 laps to go. Today, it got the best of him. No wonder Tony is a little impatient with Ryan at times.

The Mark Martin experiment at HMS is over. He should let Kahne make the move to the 5 next year. Mark would have a ride at Red Bull and could help that team in many ways.

On to Bristol and Saturday night racing - let the tempers flare! :)

Ken, if were silly kids you're a crotchety old man.

And your rumors are still just that. I don't believe you without links.

Fair enough. Let's take a look at what I've posted in this thread...

it didn't happen after the race. an official noticed it after the cars were brought down pit road just before the rain came down. the car was sitting a bit lower and they did a quick look-see. again - this is what i've heard, no confirmation yet.

#38 front row motorsports penalty...

150 points, $100k fine, 12 week suspensions to crew chief, car chief, tire specialist.

Bing, bing, bing - got that one right!

ok, here's a little insider scoop for you...

look for ford to race the mustang brand in cup and nationwide in 2011. dodge will probably do the same with the challenger.

the toys and chevy will stay with the camry and impala. but the other two will probably force toyota and chevy to bring back a sporty looking celica (or a sporty looking camry) and the camaro.

also, the splitter is going away in 2011 to more rounded look in the front.

lots of good news.

No confirmation yet, but look at this stuff...

http://www.scenedaily.com/news/arti...pt_Ford_to_switch_from_Fusion_to_Mustang.html

Look for Budweiser to move to the 29 car as a sponsor beginning next year.

Mobile 1 is looking for a new home as well and rumors say that the sponsorship will end up at Stewart-Haas.

The future of Richard Petty Motorsports is hanging in the balance. Rumors continue to swirl that Allmendinger and the Best Buy sponsorship will move to Penske in 2011. If that happens, look for Menard to leave and take his sponsorship to RCR. Elliott Sadler has already said that he is not returning to Richard Petty Motorsports, but the 19 car with Stanley Tools has said they will stay with RPM.

There is a good chance that NASCAR will test fuel injection in a handful of races during the 2011 season. These could be the first steps toward adopting the technology and the use of ethanol.

Sam Hornish does not have a sponsor for 2011 and his plans are undetermined at this point. If a sponsor can be found, Penske plans to keep Hornish in the 77 car.

Look for new changes in the chase format in 2011. NASCAR is seriously considering an elimination style format.

Mark Martin continues to insist that he will be in the 5 car next season.

Budweiser to the 29 - confirmed.

Allmendinger chose to stay with RPM - score one against me. But I did say specifically that is was a rumor.

Fuel injection - we'll have to wait and see.

Penske is still committed to Hornish as per his words this weekend - if a sponsor can be found.

Time will tell if there are changes to the format, but many are saying it will happen.

Martin in the 5 car - confirmed.

Jack has been moved to the Mayo clinic. They needed for him to be a bit more stable before moving him to Rochester. Needs a good bit of facial work. I heard earlier that the Roush teams will be racing with decals for Jack at Pocono and Iowa.

It was reported a little later that he was at Mayo and the decals were used.

Atlanta has lost the Spring race - Kentucky will get it and it will probably be an early July Sat. night race.

Chicago will become the first race in the chase.

Rumors getting stronger that Kansas will take California's winter race and moved to a "warmer" part of the season.

Menard (and family sponsor) is going to RCR as the fourth team.

More will be posted as I hear something. If anyone else hears something, post it. Lots of changes are coming.

Atlanta lost the Spring race - confirmed. Kentucky got it for a Sat. night race in July - again, confirmed.

Chicago will be the first race in the chase - confirmed.

Kansas took Fontana's race and was moved to June - confirmed.

Menard to RCR - confirmed late last week.

The schedule has not been released. No confirmation until that time. But don't doubt what is being posted here.

Oh, and Fontana is losing the chase race. Phoenix moves up to the second race of the season and Fontana will be run in March or April.

Fontana lost the chase race and runs their one race at the end of March - confirmed.

Phoenix moves to the second race of the season - confirmed.

NASCAR is planning to take back a lot of engines after the race today for dyno testing, including start and parks and those who failed to make the race. NASCAR wants to see why there is a wide difference in speed and performance.

Still hearing that Marcos Ambrose is a strong candidate to drive the 9 car for RPM next season. If sponsorship issues can be resolved, the deal will go through.

NASCAR took sixteen engines from the race - confirmed.

We'll have to wait and see on Ambrose.

Anyway, there you have it. My sources are quite good. No, I won't reveal their names and their connections.

Why do I post these things? So you can have some info before most fans know the story. Do you want me to stop posting these things? If so, just say the word.
