Fans have been told to leave the track and go to their cars, SUVs, vans, campers, hotels, etc. Big storms coming there.

It will probably be rained out. If so, the race will be run at 1pm tomorrow. Ugh! DVR time.
 
Kurt Busch moving to the #78 Furniture Row team for 2013 and will take over that ride after the Talladega race in a couple of weeks.

Regan Smith is probably looking at finishing the season with Finch in the #51 - that's what I'm hearing. Wouldn't be surprised to see Justin Allgaier or AAustin Dillon in that car to finish the season though - just another blurb I've heard. Pretty sure that Finch will close shop after Homestead - unless he can find a major sponsor for next year.

Chris Economaki, the voice of American Motorsports for many decades has passed away. Thanks for the memories and the great voice that you brought to the masses Mr. Economaki.
 
Kevin Harvick will be moving to Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014.

The demise of RCR has accelerated. RFR is heading in the same direction. Really hope something positive will happen to keep these two organizations in the mix.
 
I hope it can work for RCR, but I have my doubts. Placing most of his hope on the grandkids could really backfire. Earnhardt-Ganassi is leaving the alliance with RCR and will partner with Hendrick next year. That leaves RCR all alone now.
 
It is gonna be interesting to see what happens to Bowyer and Gordon after what happened at the end of the race. BK is in the drivers seat now, we will see if he can hang on next week
 
Nascar will probably see to it that nothing happens next week, but next year is a different story.

Joey had sixth wrapped up until that happened. Hate it for him. Ditto for Almirola who was having another solid race.

I caught the end of the race. NASCAR needs to something, especially to Gordon. NASCAR has lost a lot of fans in recent years. A lack of or poor response will hurt the sport.
 
That was a Kyle-Busch move by one of the most talented and decorated drivers of this, or any other, era.

I've actually come to respect and appreciate Jeff, mostly because of the class and dignity with which he came through a rotten deal on his divorce (I can relate.) And the way he's rebuilt his life, family, and career. But that was "Busch league." Simply inexcusable.

The problem is Gordon took out two other cars with this BS, and almost took out the Championship leader.

And what I do not get in sports is these guys can get in fist fights and nothing happens, but if you and I get in a fight in the stands we are going to jail. That really pisses me off
 
If I was Joey Logano, I would have gone after Gordon! I've seen Kyle do some old school antics that are frowned upon today, but this was BS!

Jeff had his guys there to protect him yesterday - all teams do that with their drivers. That is what being a team is all about. I can see both sides of this issue though and it looks like NASCAR has spoken.

Jeff gets a $100,000 fine and docked 25 pts. Rick Hendrick docked 25 owner pts. Probation until the end of the year for Jeff.

Brian Pattie (cc for Bowyer) gets a $25,000 fine and is on probation until the end of the year.

NASCAR now considers the matter to be closed.
 
Yeah why does NASCAR do till the end of the year? Put his ass on probation for half the season next year. This is no punishment at all for Gordon. Hell Jr got more of a punishment a few years ago for saying **** (the "s" word) in an interview.....

He did get fined 25k for having a cell phone in his car. Wasn't it him who was tweeting during a red flag before and that was fine? Hey Nascar he had a phone then too
 
NASCAR obviously picks who gets in trouble for what and when. There has and there will never be any consistency
 
Probation is enforced for infractions during that calendar year only. They never carry over - it has always been that way. The only exception is the substance abuse policy.

The cell phone policy was changed a few months ago and had no bearing on the Daytona race. Of course, how does NASCAR explain this rule to Sprint???

Right.

Besides, NASCAR probation is the ultimate paper tiger. It's utterly meaningless.
