After looking like it would be a long, slow rise with Philly, Dallas and NY all making the playoffs in 2022, the division is looking a bit more wide open now.

Dallas has a strong team but still has a collective fragile ego at times.

In Philly the wheels seemed to have come off. Siriani lost his defensive coordinator and 5 defensive starters in free agency and they now look very mortal. Is it possible Siriani doesn't survive?

In New York, the team is paying Daniel Jones $40M and he may not be ready to play until midseason 2024. One wonders whether he comes back 100%, and it's not like he was playing at a pro bowl level earlier in the season. Saquon Barkley is once again a free agent and the Giants are going to have to spend megabucks to keep him around.
 
OK, so Bob Myers said he is not breaking his contract with ESPN to be an analyst on their NBA telecast.

It seems apparent from his words that he is strictly here as a counselor and guide, not a permanent fixture to the day to day operations.
 
So they've requested interviews for HC and GM positions. Surely they hold off on actually conducting the interviews until they have a GM in place?

 
Interesting that the Ravens Front Office guy isn't on the list. That was the hot rumor at one point.
 
Peters and Harbaugh look good if they are on good terms and can work together ;)
 
I was disappointed in Harris' response to the rebrand question. It's a big deal to fans, and it's not like they can't do more than one thing at a time. Mealy-mouthed non-response is what we got. And no follow-up to try and get a real response.

Also - why no questions on Jason Wright's future?

I loved his overall responses.
 
Peters has previously refused all interviews right? This seems like a big deal...

As far as Harbaugh, he's making 8.25 million at Michigan and is treated as a king and if they win the NC a freakin legend, would his ego let him leave that and how much would he ask? I'm not a fan of Harbaugh's, I think the control he'd want is too much and at Michigan, it's all his call. For reference on how much he might cost, here's the top 10 HC salaries for the 2023 season.

I read something in the last few weeks that Michigan offered him 125 million if he promised to not talk to the nfl. Dont know if it was real or not.
125 million is a good reason to stay
 
The NCAA is after Harbaugh and there is the thought that Jim is looking to win the title game and then jump to the NFL before suspensions and sanctions get placed on their program.
 
I am surprised by the number of defensive coaches that are on the list.

With the #2 pick in the draft and an expected quarterback on deck, one would think the team is looking for an offensive coach.

I felt the same way. My one thought is that in his mind, the point of the press conference was basically to provide an update regarding the football direction - e.g., Head of Football Ops. and coaching search. To me, he seemed a little agitated that the question got weaved into the mix when others were focusing on staffing related issues. I am not trying to defend Harris, but I think it was more of a time/place issue more than anything else, and that is why he came off seeming a bit snarky. Ultimately, as much as it is killing me and many of us, we likely are going to have to be VERY patient with the name/uniform issue.
 
I'm wondering if Harris isn't just kicking the can down the road with it, He didn't feed into it, but he also didnt exactly squash it, more just felt like he was saying "there will be a time to address that, and now aint it'
 
I'm more inline with ST on the rebrand, now isn't the time, get the important football decisions out of the way first, then they can zero in on fixing that mess.
 
I don't think Jason Wright has any legs here. I bet he is out in the new league year.
 
I certainly hope so. I want all remnants of Snyder gone.
 
I could get amped about the Peters hire. The 49ers have gotten personnel right for a while. Deep and talented team that worked the trade, free agency, and draft well.
