Official Game Thread - Week 7 - @ New York Giants

I hear Allen's comments and wonder if he is simply echoing how that entire room feels towards Rivera and his staff...

With the gauntlet of a schedule we have over the final ten games, this could go off the rails real fast.

It feels based on how this team has performed that there are MAYBE three winnable games left.😐

I had the same reaction CH. I felt like that was a reference to the coaching.

I'm trying to find a positive tonight...

The only thing I can come up with is the new GM appears as though he will have a premium pick in the upcoming draft. Like top 5...

That's where you want to be if you are trying to jumpstart a roster that has some moldable clay...

That throw was not optimally placed, but it was in his hands. The defender made sure he couldn't maintain control of it, though. I hope Jahan doesn't obsess about it and let his slump ruin the year for him. Sam will send more footballs his way, I just hope he's mentally ready to secure them.

it was there. Was it a perfect throw? Nope. Was it a throw that a starting WR should be able to catch? yeah it was.... and this isn't the first one of those Dotson has dropped. It's concerning as hell. I hope he does obsess. I hope he loses sleep over it. I hope he spends extra time with the jugs machine, and after practice with the QBs catching passes. I hope he doesn't let this define him, instead i hope it motivates him.

Dotson is not the reason we lost today, but he did have the ability to be a player to rise above the other stuff and be better.... to be that talent that rises above all the other nonsense that we've dealt with like O-line play and play calling at times. The entire team was shit for the majority of 59 minutes and in 1 play he could have been a difference maker. He dropped a wide open TD last weekend, and dropped a critical 3rd down the week before. Obsessing over THAT play is what separates the men from the boys... obsession over THAT play is what changes a guy from being a player, to being a difference maker.

Will Josh Harris put a Do Your Job sign on Rivera’s, Del Rio’s, and Bieniemy’s office doors today?
I'm personally hoping in the case of Jack and Ron that the sign reads 'Go Find a New Job.'

What bothers me about this play and the several others he had dropped this year, is that he was known for catching everything. When very few of us even knew who he was as a first round pick, all the profiles talked about his great hands and how he was obsessed with catching the football. What changed from year 1 to year 2? How did he go from a guy who catches everything to a guy who is known for dropping passes? Maybe he didn’t put the work in during the off-season? Maybe he’s got something going on personally? Maybe it’s all mental now? I don’t know, but I do know he needs to figure it out. This is his career and whatever he is doing or not doing to fix this situation, he may need to consider a different tact.

Even though they have history from college, could it have to do with the change in QB. Does Sam throw at a higher velocity then Taylor ? The expectations many have due to the past history between Howell and Dotson could have the kid over thinking it instead of relaxing and just playing. No matter what, he needs to get his shit squared away now.

I can't see this team staying together and playing hard with Ron at the helm, it seems like the dam has burst.

He hits defenders harder after the play than during the play. In fact, he’s normally whiffing on guys during the play.

Are you talking about Gates? I don’t see Gates as one of our primary problems.

Yes Gates. I usually see him whiffing on pass blocks. Sometimes he’s escorting guys to Howell. But if it’s after the whistle, he’s ready to hit the defenders. I like that about him, that he will stand up for his guys. It would just carry more weight if he was better at his job.
