Official Game Thread - Week 4 - Commanders @ Falcons

Hey y'all... some are saying Terry got injured on that TD/No-TD deep shot.

I've been saying this since last year...

Terry keeps getting tackled inside of the 10 yard line. Happened a lot last year. (Go and watch the Cincy and Cleveland games).

Terry should have scored standing up in that Raiders game. No diving... not replay review... No Drama. (Jefferson or Amon Rah wouldve scored standing up).

Terry is not Top 5. Sure I like him, but he's not worth Top 5 WR money.
 
I think we all know this. Terry is fast, but not blazing. The thing that caught my attention last year was after he did outrace some defenses last year like against Dallas and Detroit, he talked about how Santana kept urging him to "pick up his knees." So, part of me wonders if it isn't speed so much as running technique or in this case, conditioning. Is he being caught because he can't run fast enough or that his running technique (from a sprinter's point of view) gets sloppy and if it is the latter does his technique fall off because he's that technique isn't automatic or because he gets game tired?
 
Unlike before the last game when Quinn prematurely announced Marcus as the starter, no one truly knows what's going on this week.
 
So it's just week 4 and we could be playing without QB1, WR1, WR2, TE2, RG1, RB1, RB2. And on defense, no RDE1, LCB2, SS1, SS2.

No worries.

By design, I'm sure. There's no competitive advantage to letting the Falcons know who is going to be under center.

I'm expecting to see Mariotta again this week. Jayden is moving around, but at half speed. Quinn is not going to rush him back on the field and risk further injury.
 
They have some weapons, but they aren’t a good offense yet. If we can make Penix uncomfortable their offense can be stymied. If our run game and Mariota can control the clock, we can get the W even with all our missing pieces.

Amos + Lattimore being healthy is pretty huge. If Reaves/Owens whoever on the back end does their job containing London and Mooney, and we wrap up Bijan before he gets into the secondary on his touches, we can take it.

Yeah they have individual talent....no Kingsbury to put it all together for them though. Hoping this isn't the week they figure things out.
 
Yeah for Terry's speed, when he is hit with a pass where he is wide open, he can sometimes get to the endzone but he tends to not have that "run away from the DB's" speed that would expect in a #1.....he might have when he was drafted, but not anymore.
 
I truly hope JD is pissed to not be starting, and I'm thrilled that the team isn't starting him. Adults are in charge.

My big takeaway this week from Logan is the Falcons have not taken many deep third shots and part of it is due to the quality of their offensive line. I think when Savage gets up to speed, he takes Quan’s role and Quan takes Harris’s role, which he played as a rookie and was better at. I don’t think they trust Owens and, with Butler likely out too, I wonder if we see Savage in some packages here
 
Kind of looking forward to Reaves and Owens getting more run. Savage, seems pretty soon, we’ll see.
