Official Game Thread - Week 13 - SNF - Broncos @ Commanders

What a throw by Nix.

May have already been mentioned but has anyone else noticed Denver’s RT moving early on about 33 percent of their snaps?

I haven't noticed! You know, good teams work the refs to make those calls happen one way or another. We have not been good at it maybe since Gibbs I. In Gibbs II, he kept sending film to the league office, but the Snyder years, we weren't getting ANYTHING from anyone.

I agree we are a playoff team.

A playoff team? Really? We are on a 6 game slide and on the way to another loss, lost four in a row by 21+, and our franchise quarterback gets hurt every other time he takes the field. We could t even beat Atlanta or Miami. I’ll be surprised if we win another game. Maybe with a great offseason we can manage a winning record next year, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Last season was a mirage, the last thirty years is reality. We’re losers until proven otherwise.

Next year, with an improved defense (DC change) and without the crazy injury bug - I think this team could make the playoffs. That was what I was responding to, pretty sure he was implying with the DC change and without crazy injuries.

The league has enough really bad teams that we could beat if healthy and with a better DC - that yes, I think they are a team that competes and "likely" makes playoffs (aka playoff team) in that scenario. That's what I think right now.

Do I think they make noise against good teams though? No. For many reasons. Not right now.

Agree including why not try a field goal on the first drive? Quinn playing it conservative. I get it to some extent but considering their record they got nothing to lose. Plus I dont trust Mariota to make that key play late in the game if the idea is to win a tight one

That isn't a playoff team unless JD progresses from last year and doesn't ever get injured, which probably isn't going to happen in this offense.

Gibbs was right to protect the QB, these guys don't even consider it.

We are likely going to have to learn some things as a team, once again.

I am not worried about next season. Load up on edge and WR. Hire a legit D coordinator. And as long as Jayden stays healthy they cam contend for a SB IMO

Maybe we could with an easy schedule or would if healthy, but would and could are loser words. I’ve sworn off false hope after this abominable season. Pardon my pessimism, the decades of losing have taken a toll on me.

"As long as Jayden stays healthy" -- and yes SkinsFTW there is a big problem in the playcalling in keeping Jayden upright.

Today is different. Kliff has broken tendencies today a few times which is huge. It makes defenses question their plan when they planned against your tendencies heavily, which I believe defenses were during the last few weeks.

That's fair. I just think you have to give the new situation a fair shake. It's a real reset and while I have been a lifelong fan - I separate it by ownership for sure. JKC, Snyder, now Harris. It's not the same team when ownership changes. The name? Eh, nothing. Owner? Absolutely different.

So right now we had a really good season, best in decades, and a really bad season. Let's see how they go the rest of this one, and next year. I still think the way that Harris thinks gives me hope, the way that AP thinks gives me hope. With AP though - he will have to learn some nuances that only come from experience I believe, and we will have to ride that with him.

Add on Burks, we hopefully, are building the depth we need to have against injuries next year.
