Official Game Thread - Week 10 - Steelers @ Commanders

Yeah, Washington's oline was dominated much of the game. They came back a little. It was a game effort. I think that's why the reffing and the drops bug me so much. We probably should have won. Did it to ourselves, but it was also done to us.

It's disappointing that we lost this game today, but if there is a small silver lining, if I had to pick a game that this team had to lose, it would be this one.

It's an outer conference game, so it means less in terms of divisional chases and playoff positions.

We have two divisional games the next two weeks. Washington could be 9-3 or maybe 8-4, which is very nice.

He's going to have to get used to weather man. It's November. Imagine playing in a real weather game. I seriously hope that wasn't an issue today lol.

It's his first foray into extended weeks in a colder place; he'll get used it in the future, but this is his first taste of prolonged cold. He was at LSU, Arizona, and Cali for the other parts of his career.

Cause this ain't ever gonna be ES, regardless if the original OG creaters of ES made this forum after they sold ES.

Eagles will likely win today and take over the lead in the division. We are a bit banged up and playing on the road on a short week. Will be another tough game but after this loss Id expect the boys to be ready and hungry. Need B-Rob and Lattimore to be ready to go.

Sick of playing teams after their bye... Does that happen again this year?

Ertz had the first.

There were too many drops today. Dyami Brown's drop in the endzone didn't end up hurting as they scored the next play, but was by far the most egregious. McCaffrey dropping a pass on the side line. Ertz dropping a wide open first down pass in the red zone, and as much as Charles Davis wanted to credit the defender on the throw to Brown on the last drive, it was in and out of Brown's hands before the defender contacted him. Not only would that have been a first down, but would have put them in FG range with a chance to win if they can't move the ball.

As for Daniels, his accuracy has definitely been affected by the rib injury. He has been a little off the past few games on some throws. Balls that used to hit receivers in stride are just a little behind. The receivers today made some catches on those throws, but for the most part were not helping him. He also was pressured a lot more than we've seen this year. Watt was mostly silent today (I think he only made one play on the last drive), but others were able to put pressure on Daniels and that had some impact. Lastly, he did not run as much today as he had. Some of that is credit to the Pittsburgh D. And overall that may be a good thing as he won't be putting himself in harms way, but it does take away some of his effectiveness as a weapon.

On the defense, I thought they were mostly fine today. The two things that frustrated me (beyond the Newton play at the end), was after getting a 10 point lead, the defense let the Steelers go right down the field and score. Plays of 26 and 34 yards hurt on that drive. But even holding the Steelers to a FG would have been huge in that situation from a momentum standpoint. Instead, they give up a TD and it showed the Steelers they were still in the game. And then the TD to Williams at the end. How do St Juste, Whitt, Quinn, anyone else who is in charge, not know that Mike Williams doesn't know the playbook at the point. He's probably only going to have a jump ball thrown to him. You cannot let him get behind you in that situation. And it wasn't like St Juste was playing press coverage. He was off the line and still let Williams run right by him.

We have a really good young team. Young teams make young team mistakes. Can’t wait to see Lattimore on this defense.

And thank you again Chicago for taking Caleb. 3 points at home vs New England. 16/30 120 yards

Bummed we lost a very winnable game. Crazy but I think the offense lost this game that and zacheus (however you spell it. ). Like other have said still excited that this team is actually good and exceeding expectations didn’t see them winning this much. On to Philly…

I would have liked to have seen CRod given the ball more than 2 times. It takes time to get him warmed up and I think he could have had a MUCH bigger impact.

Agreed on the bye week deal. It need to be in the middle of the season. They all need to do this after game 8 or 9. Recharge and then comeback, every team at the same time. We can all go a week without a game. It's the only fair thing to do or just play the game w/o a bye week like we did for so many years.

Well, the OL was banged up, Robinson didn't play, but they still should have won if they could have done anything after going up 24-14. 2 2nd half turnovers equalled 0 points for the offense. That was the ballgame.
Well, to be fair, one TO was essentially a punt well into our territory, and the other was on our one yard line. Expecting them to score both times against that defense is hopeful at best.

I'd have been happy with just scoring once. In fact they would have won if they did, just once off 2 turnovers.

Figure the odds of losing a game, up 24-14 in the 2nd half and also getting 2 turnovers in the 2nd half. The offense totally blew it

Disappointed in the loss but I think we are on the right track. We have a young team and they will learn from the mistakes made today.

On another note there are few things more obnoxious than seeing that many Steelers fans in our stadium. The ownership group really needs to do something about this. The Pennsylvania teams are able to have a home game in our Stadium every year and it’s absurd. Also, how easy it to be a fan of a six time Super Bowl Champion? If you aren’t from Pennsylvania and you are a Steelers fan it’s impossible to take you seriously,

I’m a little salty at the moment.
