Official Game Thread - Week 10 - Steelers @ Commanders

Fuck the refs. You can tell from their initial spot that they were out to screw us. They spotted the ball a full yard short. That was a first down. If it wasn't it was missed by an inch. We had a few terrible drops that didn't help Daniels out, but so tired of the refs every stinking game. Every stinking year.

Even worse when they overlook the PI on the play right before. Defender hit Noah before the ball got there.

I think the D put up a valiant effort in this one. The ST miscues, and the offense struggling made this an uphill battle today. Way too many drops by our WRs today, and Jayden was not as sharp as he has been (as Voice_of_Reason rightfully pointed out, the Pittsburgh D may have had something to do with that).

We were in a position to win this one throughout. The officials were not very helpful to the cause but ultimately it was our own mistakes that cost us the game.

Hopefully - we grow from this one, take the positives from it, absorb the negatives, and kick Philly's ass on Thursday night.

Hail hmmm hmmms.

Damn, this thread is poppin.............

/endsarcasm

Man the game day thread is dead over here. Not used to that, coming from ES.

Guys... we don't have a 'Game Thread' where folks post and you have to refresh 3000 times per game to have a conversation. We have live chat software where we all are on game day. Read a little here and you'll see numerous references to it. Hope to see you there next time.

I don't know if I'm right about this, but I think Pittsburgh is better than Philly. Pittsburgh is DEFINITELY better coached. The Eagles MIGHT have a slightly better roster, but I think Pittsburgh is probably a tad better.

If we get some guys back (BRob, Wylie and Lattimore would be the big 3), and we play a clean game, we might not be favorites to beat the Eagles, but we should be REALLY close, and possible win.

It's going to be a tough game, though, because no matter what, you're always beat up coming off of a game against the Steelers.

Oh, and a note to our pass catchers: if the ball hits you in the hands, please catch the damn ball.

Game started out with bad offense and bad special teams, yet somehow they lead 24-14 in the 3rd.

Then the offense did nothing even though the defense forced 2 2nd half turnovers, the refs didn't help either, but losing is on the offense for the first time this season, IMO.

Cause this ain't ever gonna be ES, regardless if the original OG creaters of ES made this forum after they sold ES.

You're right - it's not ES... nor do many of us want it to be. The functionality on our site is far beyond what you are used to. I would spend some time getting familiar with it, but that's just me :)

This actually might be one of the more frustrating things about the game. We actually had the lead. By 2 scores. And we let it slip away. Shut out in the 4th quarter. Had a couple opportunities, and then bad things happened. That is very Jay Gruden-esque. Except that with Jay, they would have been blown out by 28.

Oh, well. 7-3. I predicted no better than 7-10 for the season before the season, so, assuming they don't lose out, they will have beat my expectations.

And, they're still a VERY GOOD team. They just need to play clean.

But the team just straight up deleted ES without a word mentioned anywhere, so you probably need to get used to it and start posting somewhere and since everybody moved here that makes it an easy decision, IMO.

WR drops doomed us today. Yes, Ertz had made the line to gain, but WRs dropped at least 5 passes that hit them in both hands, the face, or the chest. Does JD need to throw it slower for them to catch it (rhetorical question- no he does NOT).
Yep. Too many drops. Also JD looked pretty pedestrian today against a very good defense. He missed a couple of layups. On the positive side we fared pretty damn well against a really good team. First loss in Northwest Stadium. On to Philly.

It was a tough outing today. The rib is surely effecting Daniels, you can see it in his play the past two games. It's effected the play calling to a degree. Receivers didn't help him much today as others have said. He seems to be gun shy about taking off, weather by design or not. I don't blame the coaching staff or Daniels, the less hits he takes the better. Getting Robinson back this week would be huge, keeping the fingers crossed...

I also think Daniels seemed to be under duress most of the game, causing his pedestrian play. I noticed he missed some passes today he usually connects on.

Well, the OL was banged up, Robinson didn't play, but they still should have won if they could have done anything after going up 24-14. 2 2nd half turnovers equalled 0 points for the offense. That was the ballgame.

Usually if you are up 10 and get 2 turnovers in the 2nd half you win. Yet the offense couldn't get anything going.
