I still find the WFT's "elite" defense is only so on paper. No pass rush to speak of in that game.
Without having seen the game except what was on the Red Zone, I was curious as to why Rivera punted late in the 4th from the 40. Then I looked back at the box score and saw that there was almost 7 minutes left. The defense can't get 1 stop in 7 minutes? Giving up 20 points against this offense is good, but not being able to get a stop when it counts is not.
The counterargument is that we were likely not going to get the ball in a better spot field position wise (with that much time left on the clock) at any point later in the ball game while we were in need of a go-ahead score. I would have taken my chances with needing 7 yards on one play. Worst case scenario, you fail to convert and they likely still move downfield, but hopefully you hold them to a field goal. You could argue that we would have saved a minute or two of clock time to work with on offense going this route. It is all a crying over spilled milk argument though. We weren't crisp enough today.
Definitely, Herbert was making all the right decisions and circumstance bailed us out from being blown out by him.I hated not going for it. In the 2nd half, our ability to move the ball was clearly better than our ability to stop them from driving. I get that there were 6 1/2 minutes left, but it just felt like the game was over right there.
Sounds nasty even if nothing is
That's fancy talk for the hip came out of it's socket - the ball end of the femur is displaced from the acetabulum (the hip socket). How serious it is depends on a lot of things. But it's a significant injury.
