Instead, its us gunning for 99 yard drives using ALL 4 DOWNS wisely. Finally. We have a good QB. Why bench him for the... punter and a passive D? Teams defer as a rule now to try to eek out 2 consecutive possessions yet happily punt 4 times in the first half without a 2nd thought.

I remember when we had teams that fans called for us punting on first down and getting the defense on the field... the likelihood that we would score on defense (get a turnover or kick a fieldgoal) was higher than us driving the ball and getting a score on offense.

Now, we want the ball... we know that once the ball is at half field, the punter is not going to show up. It is four down ball...
 
Why not us?

Game day. The excitement has been building and Im really looking forward to tonight. A lot of confidence surrounding the Lions and for good reason... they are obviously a great team especially on offense. They have two running backs that dominate. They have a close to unstoppable passing game. Our Defense has struggled at times against mid level offenses and now go against one of the leagues best. The Lions are at home and the stadium will be filled with hungry lions fans who have experienced enjoyable seasons fewer times than we have which is saying something considering our past 20 years. I expect a very loud home crowd making it near impossible to hear while the Skins are on offense.

Fortunately they still have to play the game. The team moving forward can't do so just because on paper everyone says they should. Magic is made when things unexpected happens. Any given Sunday (Saturday). No one gives Washington a chance outside of us fans. But they are gonna play the game anyway and we will see what happens. Why not us?

I think there's a three in ten chance that we win tonight. The good news is that I thought there was a two in ten chance that we would have a winning season and a three in one hundred chance we'd be in the playoffs.
 
Nobody is giving us an ice cubes chance in hell... just the way I like it

I still say defer. Even here. It's a gamble If Detroit takes the ball down the field, especially with an eight, nine minute TD drive, then we lost that " bet ".

However, we force a punt ( after they have the ball two, three minutes ), then we put together a long TD drive .. Now, we have a seven point lead on Detroit with only a couple minutes left in the first quarter, and we get the ball first in the second half.
I don't think we could ask to be in any better position than that.
