It doesnt look as bad in the 2nd full speed clip below, in his defense. That first camera angle does him no favors.

Fergie starts running away and backwards towards the sidelines and had clearly eluded Payne's grasp. But no worries, he knew he had Luvu as backup. But yeah he could have finished stronger once he saw he was starting to get tackled.
