Official Game Thread - NFC CHAMPIONSHIP - Commanders @ Eagles

Dude went back into the game after his finger was dislocated. And played last week.

If he couldn’t go, he couldn’t go.
And again he should have said let me try and if I cant go then Ill let you know -the eagles had multiple players who were not supposed to play due to serious injuries go

Did the coaches sit him or did he declare himself injured and refuse to play? You don't really know, do you?

Neither do I, but what we do know is that he didn't play and didn't try to play.
How do you know he didn't try to play?

So in other words, you're a Strength and Conditioning guy too.

lol I can't believe we're talking about the refs. We sucked as a team. We lost because we were the inferior team, not because of the refs. Every game has bad calls. You negate those by not playing awful like we did.
I can't believe that it's incomprehensible that someone can think that the commie talent is far inferior to the Eagles, and still would have lost to it....and also think that the officiating was flagrantly one-sided.

It's injury to insult. The kind of thing that pisses off people who usually don't blame the refs. I find people that constantly complain about officiating to be insufferable, and I still think this game was really poorly officiated. That's why there were so many scuffles between players.

I think you're a very fair poster, from the ES days, so I don't say this just to argue with you.

I just understand why people would complain about this one.

A team with the 2nd overall pick is not gonna have playoff talent the following season, that's a granted....but damn this was frustrating to watch.

Ah well, the end result is the same....what the **** do I know, I wanted Maye. :)

No these were momentum shifting calls or no calls. Newton was a split moment from a forced fumble and he was held right at the QB, not away from the play.

Are you serious?

So I don't guess they have a medical staff/doctors employed by this team, right? If he had played and the Eagles abused him over and over, you'd complain about the staff putting him out there.

Too much Hollywood scenario going on here.
Jesus, of all the things to harp on. 😑

We all know the loss was due to a lack of strength & conditioning. 😉

I think WR is also extremely important. Our WRs outside of Terry are all complete JAGs who were probably made to look serviceable by JD. We're in serious need of an upgrade there.

I agree. This might be our #1 need, thinking about FA and the draft. The offense carried the team. Not sure we can draft/FA our way into a good defense this offseason but a legit #2 can make the offense maybe the best. We do need lots of upgrades though.

the only real thing i have to complain about the refereeing is the way Shawn Hochuli scolded the team about "intentional penalties" and awarding the touchdown. his eagles fandom came out there.

What do you actually know? All I know is that Allen and Payne got into a fist fight on the sideline last year because Allen was tired of Payne loafing and not giving a shit. Then, we hear that Payne is playing hookie because he has a boo boo on his finger... oh, and a mysterious knee injury that even after he's declared out no one says shit about.

Ever hear a player being out with zero injury report? Was it his ACL, MCL, was it a strain, a sprain, what degree was it?

It's fine to give the player the benefit of the doubt. It's also fine to doubt the player's fortitude when he skips the biggest game of the year and no one tells us why.

Also, until we learn otherwise, I'm really disappointed with Payne. If the Eagles Center can go back in with a bad back and the other one can play on one leg then Payne sitting out the game because of an ouchee is unforgiveable.

Maybe it was a real injury and he couldn't play. Maybe it's what we saw all year and his want to is just lacking even in the game's biggest moments.
Yeah Payne and Alle
n are certainly not worth the money. Neither consistently shines.

If it was most of the rest of the team I would not say a thing but it was PAYNE who is a classic over pay and only had one good season when he wanted paid

I think it's perfectly fine that he said what he said. Remember a few years ago when fans were upset at Ravens players mauling WRs towards the end of games? I forget what the benefit was, but there was a clear one at the time. Sometimes, you've got to put your foot down and say enough is enough. We'd be livid if it was Daniels getting flattened every play by a linebacker jumping over the line before the ball is snapped. It was entertaining for me to watch, but it's also an injury risk to let it go on indefinitely.

How do you know he didn't try to play?
Because he didn't.

Honestly, I don't. But it sucks seeing two Eagles players gutting it out who probably shouldn't be on the field and on our on paper best defensive lineman not.

For the people who are screaming about a fix for the Eagles, you realize if the NFL and networks and sponsors would have MUCHA preferred the Commanders in the SB because nobody likes the Eagles outside of Philly and Daniels is a star they would want on the biggest stage, right?

Whether there were missed calls or bad calls, there wasn’t a conspiracy.

Agreed.

Nobody outside of Kansas City or Philadelphia wants to see another Chiefs-eagles Super Bowl.

I think the NFL would've loved to have Jayden Daniels in the Super Bowl and spend 2 weeks showcasing their newest star.

There were some bad calls in the game, but it wasn't part of some vast conspiracy to keep Washington out of the Super Bowl.

Another Strength and Conditioning guy.

I'm sure they looked at Payne struggling in practice and left it up to him....

That was huge. Would have been a turnover on downs with a chance to go in at the half with the lead.

Oh eff you. And I'll end it there.

That Lattimore trade is looking bad at this point,he looks washed up

He actually wasn't bad today except for that one drive...the big play he gave up to Brown in the first half was great coverage and a hell of a throw. Should have been called back because of a hold by Saquon. The plays leading up to the PF, he had a couple bad plays. That happens sometimes in a game. Other than that series, from what I could tell he had a good game. Short of the penalties, the coverage at times by MS and ML forced Jalen into quite a few throwaways, sacks, or negative plays. Mikey gave up a couple plays too. Run defense, different story!

That, and we absolutely would have obliterated them if we had thrown our second game with them.

Really? Your proof that he didn't try to convince the medical staff he was fine is because you didn't see him on the field? You're a reasonable poster most times, but this is unreasonable. I won't say Payne was awesome or anything, but if he's injured and the medical staff says he's done, he's done. You don't know better than the team's staff.
