Official Game Day Thread: Bears @ Redskins

As I've been saying, if you want to reduce the risk of concussions, get rid of the helmets! This will show all who can actually tackle, and who has been using their helmet as weapon.

Or maybe they can wear those big goofy styrfoam helmets inside like kids do on bikes haha.

Real football players don't wear helmets ......... No Aussie Rules player does, no Rugby League player does, no rugby Union players does and no soccer player does. That makes the only football players who wear helmets are .........?

I think you are forgetting that this game is played in the land where common sense isn't so common, and where "safety" is commonly used in order to justify taking your money. Now the NFL is in on the fun as well and it'll only get worse.

Which is why some of those guys came over here and dominated the NFL......oh wait, never mind.

Dominate? Are you on drugs? All former Aussie Rules players only played NFL at the end of their AFL career for the money.

Some of those guys? Hmm, now let's see how many former Aussie Rules players went on to make the NFL their financial future, shall we.

1/. Darren Bennett
2/. Ben Graham
3/. Sav Rocca
4/. Chris Bryan

Of those who played Aussie Rules as a junior, then attended college in the USA:
1/. Mat McBriar
2/. David Lonie
3/. Craig Wing

All of these have one thing in common - they are all punters! If a punter spends mre than 10 minutes per game on the field, there is something wrong, considering a game can go for more than 3 hours!

And you say they dominate!

"Dominate."

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

So what you're saying is, out of all those "real" football players you guys grow over there, they can only stand to play 10 minutes over here in a real league?

Gotcha. :cool3:

Eh, I could see some Rugby Union guys doing well at MLB, OLB or SS in the NFL (not punting like those Aussie-rules fairies ;)), and there are some quick backs who could easily play RB well. Its a matter of not knowing the game; I doubt most of them would even think about trying out. Similar to how our NFL athletes would dominate at soccer if they played it their entire lives...but put together a team of NFL soccer players (even the best athletes) and they'd get dominated by any Euro-league team.

My reference is for ALL punters. At least kickers get more than one chance - XP, FG and kick-off! Anyway, I started discussing the use of helmets as a weapon, not punting.
