Official Game Day Thread: Bears @ Redskins

Did someone dress up as Kyle "idk wtf a rb is" Shanahan today? Because that box score says 30 rushes and NOT counting Bob's 11.

Seemed like a wild win and glad the offense finally showed a little something, especially in the 1st half.

Happy for the win. We need Meriweather off this team by next week. Make it happen universe.

I find it hilarious Reed did so good when he was my superstar on Madden last night

I think the key to the game that was over-looked was the 3rd down conversion on our last drive, where RG3 was being chased down out of the pocket. It appeared that he would either be sacked, ran out of bounds for a loss, or just throw it away, resulting in a 4th down, and an unlikely comeback. Then he appeared to throw it away, and Garcon makes a miraculous catch, and miraculously manages to curl his way just over the 1st down marker.

Besides Merriweather, I want to cut Morgan, fire the special teams coach, and flog Haslet. Next week we need to put the best tacklers on special teams, sit Fletcher on third downs, start Doughtery, and throw to Reed on every pass play on third downs unless its less than 3 yds then pound Morris. If they don't do this, fire the play caller.

PFT thinks that the headhunter will get suspended next week. Wouldn't be surprising to see two games imho. Could get a fine that reaches $100,000 too.

Wouldn't be surprised. I guess that will force the coaches to reconsider Rambo.

With Doughty concussed, Pugh released and Tanard in limbo it's nearly impossible to cut him. But I do expect a two game suspension.

A Denver loss tonight would be bad for us. We need them to save their down game for next week.

It's a done deal

I'd love for us to be the team that hands the Broncs their first loss.

But it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

They way things are going now, it appears we will be the ones to hand them their second loss.

I see what you're saying, but if you look at it from the Redskins' angle instead of the Broncos perception, a loss by them could actually benefit us.

Because I think it would give our team a bit more confidence, seeing that the Broncos are beatable, than the confidence level they would have facing an un-beaten 7-0 team, which almost certainly would cause some hesitancy on the Skins' part.

Two heads shots on receivers today, costing us 30 yards in penalties.

Most likely will get suspended this week.

Dude is a disaster.

Oh, well that'll do it. Knowing that Goodell/Mara connection probably rest of season.

Did Rambo get caught with Raheem's wife or something? Or is he our defensive Taylor Jacobs?

Dude, he should be suspended the rest of the season. He's been flagged multiple times all season for headhunting, even to the point of giving himself and another player concussions on different plays, and if he doesn't get it or care, which has become obvious, cut his ass or let him sit all year on his couch via suspension.

Especially considering his history, which goes back a long way prior to him being a Redskin :

* In Week 6 of 2010, as Patriot, Meriweather was penalized for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Baltimore Ravens tight end Todd Heap
The NFL took action the following Tuesday when they fined Meriweather $50,000 for the hit.

* As a Chicago Bear, after Week 4 of 2011 NFL season against the Carolina Panthers, he was fined $20,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit against Steve Smith.

* The very next week, he was once again fined $25,000 for an unnecessary roughness penalty due to a late hit after the end of a play against the Detroit Lions.

Even former Bears wide receiver, Tom Waddle, negatively criticized Merriweather's tackling technique stating that it doesn't show any regard for the safety of other players
