NFL Draft Day 3 (Allen audio/Final)

Dang, I wonder if we're getting more picks this draft, or picks next year.

I don't see us having any more this round but the 12th, which we already had from Miami. Guess it has to be for something next year.

Edit: Take that back, 22nd and 24th are both ours now.
 
It's not like the Pats don't have the ammo to move up and down.

Is this where we just grab a bunch of OL and hope one of them sticks? Could we still take a flyer on a guy like Blount or a QB? There must be several guys they still like that would make them trade down for a buttload of 7th rounders.
 
WR? I guess in the 7th you have to take best player available, because the talent level is so low.
 
A real head scratcher. I don't see him as anything more than a Training Camp body. Extremely lucky if he makes the Practice Squad. Second coming of Mike Espy.
 
He runs a sub 4.4 40 and is 2nd on UCLA's all-time yardage list behind Maurice Jones-Drew. I suppose it's possible he could be our modern day James Thrash and he seems to be a real workout warrior. Maybe it's yet another message sent to our current WR corps or just maybe we'll be losing more remnants of the Gibbs/Zorn regimes than we originally thought.

One thing I've noticed is Riley, Morris and Austin all seem to be hungry, overachieving, hard working, high character guys. After seeing this, I have to believe last two picks will be similar types. That means no Blount and no Tony Washington most likely.
 
Austin is a kick returner, a definite need for us. I like the pick.

Erik Cook

Strengths
Cook is thickly built with a wide frame. Uses his hands well to get inside and lock onto defenders. Possesses a quick first step and takes very good angles in run blocking. Sinks hips to get under the defender’s pads and uses his strong lower body to generate a good push. Prepares well and has a very good understanding of pass protection.

Weaknesses
Lacks lateral range in pass protection and will be exposed on the perimeter by speedy edge rushers. Limited fluidity makes him a liability on the move and in open spaces. Struggles to recover when he loses position or balance. Does not show a mean streak and finish blocks. Inconsistent recognizing blitzes.


This guy is probably more of a project than anyone else we drafted.

Good draft. Love those last two picks. Nice to see us moving back to get more picks too. Got a good feeling about Austin too.
 
Center, Tackle to close. I'll take it. Not sure about the stuff in the middle but I am liking that we took 3 offensive linemen this year.
 
Capers was projected for Rd. 3 or 4 by many. Any idea why he fell back so far? Could be a steal. Likely not a LT, but perhaps a future RT.
