I’m not buying that.

He’s a downgrade for sure. He’s also played mainly at OT not G.

He’s had 6 career starts at G in 7 seasons.

Also, it seems like Luvu is a little bit of a head hunter with opposing QB’s. He’s the one that knocked Hurts out of the second Eagles game, and I can’t help but wonder if Goff wasn’t affected by that hit Luvu laid on him after the ininterception.

The stat I heard was 9 targets, zero completions, one PD. I believe I heard that from Ed Oliver.

Having #5 is a bit of a cheat code though on 3rd and 4th and 3 or less. It’s a bit like Philly with the tush push - we are not quite that automatic but it certainly changes the calculation on go/no go.

I think the stats say we are better than Philly. In fact, I think we’ve converted 92% of our 4th downs this season and I keep hearing that we have been better at converting on 4th down this year than any team in history.

I have to say the last few months have truly been surreal. We have a team in Washington again to be incredibly proud of and the future is very bright. I am beyond grateful for the job that ownership has done with turning this franchise around. From hiring Adam Peters, and all the great coaches they have brought in. Jayden being drafted. All of it. Winning off the field AND on the field.



With that said, we have to go to Philadelphia next Sunday and face the Eagles in the NFC Championship. There is nothing at this point that can diminish what our team has accomplished this year, but I can’t even express the absolute joy i would experience at defeating the Eagles in Philadelphia, in their house, in front of their obnoxious fanbase. There have been few more devastating things to witness over the last few decades than the Eagles more or less dominating the East while we largely slipped into oblivion. Consistently taking over our field when we are simply wrapping up another losing season and they are heading to the playoffs.

I can’t even describe what hoisting that NFC Championship in their city on that field would mean to me.

I don't go back quite as far as you do, I would have been 32 in '91 and at the peak of my enthusiasm. Not sure if you noticed, at first I always thought Norv Turner sucked the life out of me, but everyone I spoke with regardless of the team they rootedf for lost their passion a bit when they get in their mid-40's.

That's why it was so rare for me to run around the room pumping my fists and throwing my arms in the air in the touchdown signal during the long td to Terry and the Pick 6. It has to have been 20 years since I behaved this way and I have done it several times this year with so many last second wins and big plays in big games. It's been so much fun.

Hey there DGF, I was 30 in '91 so we are very close in age, and yes, at the peak of fandom, just as you, and never expected the next 30+ years to play out like they did. Isn't it awesome to feel that fire again? My wife said she has never seen me act like I am during games now. She likes the change Jayden's calm spreads to me, oddly enough, and I always think we have a chance no matter the opponent, spread, or situation. Good to "see" ya again from the old ES site. I wish I woulda found this site earlier, but made it in time for the playoff run, so I'll take it. So amped up I'm going to have a hard time being useful at work this week, but frankly Scarlet, I don't give a damn, Hail!
