Next Day Thread: You Must Be Lion

I still haven't processed any of this. I keep pinching myself - I can't believe where we were 12 months ago and where we are now, and it is tantalizingly intoxicating to think of the absolute ridiculousness that awaits ahead if this team gets 2 more wins.

Let's all enjoy and appreciate every minute of what we are experiencing right now. Fans go a lifetime without witnessing it, and for us to taste it after everything we have gone through is truly satisfying.

Brits Martin? We had the Brits to our flank in the ground war with their Fox chemical warfare vehicles
Yep. He was in an armored fighting vehicle attached to an armored formation doing radio surveillance to find Iraqi troop/tank concentrations and calling in air and artillery on their asses.

I wonder if Detroit fans are starting to hate us like I hate Seattle. 4-0 against the Lions in the playoffs and we ended their SB hopes with their best team in the SB era. Seattle is 3-0 against us in the post season and hate them the most out of any team outside the division for it. (Well that, and their fans are absolute garbage.)

I wish I’d had a camera. I watched Iraqi tanks trying to hide near the burning oil wells at Al Burqan while Cobra helicopters blew them up with missile fire one by one. It was literally like being IN Apocalypse Now. Crazy. Please say thanks to your brother from this Yank.

New to this site so first post. LOL at all the posters bragging (?) about their age . I was 44 in 91, a Skins fan since I was stationed in Norfolk in the early 70s. By 91 I had every player on the roster memorized, height/weight, speed, strengths and weaknesses. They were exceptionally strong on both offense and defense, basically no major holes at all. They had great coaching and like this team Gibbs had them playing for each other as a team. Most of the backups could have started for other teams.

It’s a new age now and that would just about be impossible what with that new fangled free agency, salary cap, etc. But the thing this team has they did not is a true generational QB, maybe best in the league by next year. What I see watching this team keep winning does not so much remind me of their past championship runs, it reminds me of a certain New England team in the early 2000s who had a gangly second year nobody at QB who carried them all the way and had nerves of ice cold plutonium. I remember his accuracy, decision making, and how he was totally calm and confident in the Super Bowl, having fun with no fear.

And ours can run!
Welcome to the site. A lot of us just came over when Extremeskins shut down. Really good group of people here.

I don't go back quite as far as you do, I would have been 32 in '91 and at the peak of my enthusiasm. Not sure if you noticed, at first I always thought Norv Turner sucked the life out of me, but everyone I spoke with regardless of the team they rootedf for lost their passion a bit when they get in their mid-40's.

That's why it was so rare for me to run around the room pumping my fists and throwing my arms in the air in the touchdown signal during the long td to Terry and the Pick 6. It has to have been 20 years since I behaved this way and I have done it several times this year with so many last second wins and big plays in big games. It's been so much fun.

Hey Boone I thought about our conversation when I noticed I didn't hear Lattimore's name much if at all. No news is good news from the cornerback front so I'm going to assume he had a solid game or they were afraid to go after him, only 1 target. Hope you were right.

So 1st post here but lurking since es went down. Was 9 during the 91/92 season dont remember much but do remember the SB win.

I am sttill in disbelief, confused, and uttterly shocked were in the nfc championship game. i thought we had like a 5% chance to win. this is unreal dont think its set in yet.

Welcome to the site brother

So the Eagles.

Stop Barkley dare them to beat us with Hurts on a bad knee running or throwing. Also block Carter.

That’s it. That’s the game plan.

Oh and hope for better weather. I think bad weather favors them with their dominant running game.

0 turnovers and 1 punt in 2 playoff games. If they keep that up and continue to be successful on 4th down the Eagles have no chance.

Yeah I hear you. I guess for me the last 23 years have felt abnormal, like they had some disease or something. Er… guess they did. Anyway I never got used to the idea they weren’t supposed to win, although I did stop expecting it. This season doesn’t feel wild or bizarre, it feels like the GI infection has passed (no pun intended) and we are finally back to normal.

Cosmi being out is huge. Can’t leave Scott single on Carter.

Need to pass on early downs and go up tempo no huddle - don’t let the Eagles sub on that D’line and wear them down. Eagles secondary is not great - put this all on #5.

The way too early forecast is dry, but chilly.....was considering making the trip....for about 30 seconds.....we went up there for a MNF game and it wasn't too crazy early in the tailgate...but after a couple hours of drinking, the Philthy fans started getting chippy.

Is Scott really THAT big a downgrade from Cosmi?

I’m not buying that.

I can say sorry in about 8 languages. That has got me through a lot as I’ve travelled around the world 🙂
Yeah...I also learned to quit saying "excuse me?" when bumping into people in London 😉
