I'm also a refugee from ES that followed the link from Reddit. In my case, I joined ES in 2003 during the reign of the Ol' Ball Coach. I can still remember when the first rumors of Coach Joe coming back hit the board. Just an tremendous level of excitement. Over the years, my interest in ES would wax and wane, depending on the fortunes of the team. As a lurker by trade, I never really ran afoul of the mods, so I have mostly positive memories (the RG3 vs. Cousins debates were legion). And it sucks that just as it seems like the team is turning a real corner, this place that I've been going to for over 20 years has just vanished into thin air.
On the other hand, I also was one of the first wave of members to join this very website, way back in 2009. I was definitely a fan of the more intimate and, in many ways, more substantive feel of the place. That continued until around 2016-2017, when the political atmosphere was starting to seem a little hostile to "the opposition", as it were. So, I went on my merry way. And I'm happy to see that in the modern incarnation of this board, politics are left at the door. That seems like the right choice to me. Better to come together to celebrate this (possibly great) team.
Reading through this thread, I recognize so many screen names of people whose posts I enjoyed in the past and present. Can't wait to enjoy them even more in the future. This feels like home, I think.
