How do you feel about the Commanders Brand 2.0?

  • Vastly improved, if this is THE brand moving forward I’m satisfied.

  • I like the direction, but I still feel more to do. I will/have specified in thread.

  • I don’t like this new direction. I didn’t like the old either. They can’t make this work for me.

It would be pivoting from being the Steelers with the black uniforms to being the Sun Devils with the white uniforms. I like Jayden, but I'd rather not turn into his college team.

They are having the draft day party on Thursday night this year at the stadium again. The party had been in National Harbor the last couple years. I suspect there will be new gear there for us to buy. I’ll be there for the party. The tickets are free, but you still have to have them.

Will they ever get him in the fold as far as the uniforms go? Seems doubtful although they may be able to pay him off to sell out his “approval”. I don’t mean bc of his bad blood with the old pre-Harris org, I mean that he’s the most vocal anti-Commanders guy among the player alumni.

I mean, technically they, or he, could make the case that it is the jersey he wore in his playing days. It doesn't say " Commanders ", ( He didn't want his name on a Commanders jersey. Understandable. ) and since he did make an appearance at the first game under Harris & Co ownership ....

I don't think he is so bitter that he wouldn't go along with a number retirement ceremony.

Everything i've seen suggests we're going back to a Gloss helmet, so I wonder if he's not just training in last year's helmet... still, it's by far my favorite helmet since the name change.
 
Yup, I should have said this initially. Not any new uniform helmet for game day. Just a throwback style.
 
The ones with the spelled out name in orange reminds me of the creamsicle pirates. Spelling out the entire Commanders name on the side of a helmet is quite lengthy.

Make the helmet red, make the writing brown or gray, and stick a feather near the front. From a TV's perspective, it could pass for a spear. Probably a publicity nightmare for a team that was forced to leave that branding behind, but the helmet would already look like a nightmare so they might as well knock the nightmare out of the park.
 
I’m actually pretty surprised that Riddell’s licensing allows them to sell helmets that don’t line up with a teams’ actual branding/alternates

The NFL used to be very strict with some of this stuff. That was part of the reason for limited alternate jerseys for NFL teams in the past, otherwise some orgs could go full Oregon with a zillion of them—but they want jerseys on the field to be represented in merch purchases. Surprised it doesn’t work the other way around as well
 
The NFL has relaxed the rules on a lot of this stuff, that’s why we’re seeing so many variations now. They’ve realized more variations mean appealing to a wider audience which means selling more gear.
 
I bought one of those helmets because that’s what I do lol, but I am glad they won’t be seen on game day. More like a novelty item.
 
Here's a question for the masses, helmet itself aside.

What do you all think of the Commander's wordmark on that helmet compared to the current wordmark? I like the script version better I think. Looks more like the old Redskins wordmark...which I'm sure is what they were trying to do.

Nevermind, even that font isn't specific to us. All the team's helmets have the same style.
