Love me some Sublime! Didn't know they covered that one. Thanks!

I guess I am permanently retired now, so here is a funny one

I need to be careful with my mouth...but this popped up on my youtube feed (x1000) and I had to post it. God bless y'all

I've got two very long stories about meeting Sting and The Police.

The first story is on there very first tour they were to play at the Warner Theater. Me and my best buddy arrived very early and we were just hanging around. They pulled up in a stolen station wagon driven from New York and asked us to help get their gear out and help set up the stage which we did. At some point Sting asked me to go get some Heinekens and gave me $40. I had no clue where to buy beers and I was about 15 or 16 years old. So I went out on the street found a liquor store and bought two cases of Heineken. Came back to the venue and they were setting up. I literally sat on Center Stage at the Warner Theater in DC drinking a Heineken and The Police were warming up behind me.

Many years later Sting came out with his first solo album. I went to Theatre Mogador in Paris and saw the second night. But then he also came to Frankfurt and I had tickets. There was this beautiful beautiful German girl that I had been chasing and she loved the Police. I bought tickets and we agreed to meet in front of the Frankfurt Festhalle. This was a very important date for me so I arrived very early. Too early is a matter of fact. So I went across the street to a Gasthaus and decided to get something to eat and have a few beers before she was to arrive. The place was probably about 75% full but there were a few empty seats at the end of the bar. So I started walking down there and there was a guy reading a newspaper sitting alone by himself. So I went down there and sat next to him. He was reading El Monde dressed all in black and had blonde spiked hair. I immediately knew it was Sting. I ordered a beer and was chill. We started talking and he immediately recognized me. He said aren't you the guy from DC? Anyways long story short, I got to sit next to Sting have a few beers together and eat some goulash. I told him why I was there and about my date and I ended up getting killer seats in the front few rows as well as backstage passes. Needless to say she was overwhelmed and I got laid.

Dude was cool AF and down to earth. IMO a true musical genius

Been tryin to figure out what Rush's new name should be, without Neil Peart.
Here's a few good ones :

Ruse
Rust
Gush (The G stands for Grandfathers, which is what Geddy and Alex are like, compared to this girl drummer)

With all due respect to Geddy and Alex, of course

I think it’s just a 50th anniversary tour, and they do have the blessing of Neil’s family. Should they try to release new material as Rush? Would be interesting to see how that goes over, but it doesn’t bother me they are touring as Rush. The background video in that first performance alone shows numerous clips of Neil.

I’m confident they’re not gonna do anything that will tarnish their legacy.

For the past week or so I have been testing and troubleshooting my new pedal boards. I got kind of hung up with the Effectrode compressor, the EHX deluxe electric mistress flanger and the UA FX starlight tape echo. Started playing a bunch of stuff like this...

(With volume pedal)

My rig literally nails these tones! ❤️

DWinzit I thought of you.
Since you seemed to enjoy being introduced to Dream Theater, I think you will dig this Progressive Rock group.

On the lyrical side, the lyrics vividly paint a motion picture of a man in Vegas, with a gambling problem.
And as far as the 'musical aspect' , I don't even know where to start with all the musical talent going on here

This is them performing the same song, at their 40th anniversary.
How many bands and vocalists look and sound this good, after 40 years, I wonder
