Getting into these guys:

Yeah, American Pie usually does that for me. Listening to that on the 8-track while driving down the road in our 1976 Pinto Station Wagon with wood paneled side is a treasured memory!

Last night it was a dose of Alison Kraus though.

Can't give anything new since I tend to stay away from the new stuff that comes out. Most of it just sounds like junk to me.

They are not exactly under the radar (at least out here in Houston), but AWOLNATION's debut CD is fantastic. You've probably heard their single Sail:

But their styles range throughout the album. Really great stuff!

and Brian, it always reminds me of that road that you take from B-ville to Laurel that goes past the Hitching Post and water treatment plant.

I used to love the Hitching Post, but it's Tubby's today so I had to think about that for a second.

This is my buddy Dan's band Bison from Chesapeake, VA. They were huge in the Indie circuit, but have recently started blowing up (locally at least) with heavy radio air play.

If you like Mumford & Sons or the Avett Brothers, you'll love Bison.

Here's a link to their Reverb Nation page......

On the off chance someone here isn't familiar with Mr. Fripp & Co. ...

Wow, I grew up with them, not because I thought they were a great band, but because of their amazing drummer, Bill Bruford, I idolized.

Are they still together ?

See if you guess which famous rock band, the lead singer of THIS band, also sang with.
Try to recognize his voice, without looking up the answer

Peter Cetera?

As to King Crimson....as far as I know they're still on hiatus since the 2009 tour got cancelled. Haven't checked recently to see what the individual players have been up to...with the exception of Tony Levin, who I try to check up on like once a month because I LOVE the kinds of projects he hooks into. That sumbitch simply gets it.
