Was this the Diver Down tour? Or 1984? I believe this was at Capitol Centre in Largo MD. I was at both shows! 🤩
Yeah that was the Diver Down tour, that boot has been going around for a number of years. By far the best Roth-era Van Halen show I’ve seen.

As I understand it, the Capital Centre was built with a state of the art sound system and recording equipment. Supposedly there is a treasure trove of high quality concert vids that were made there from a number of artists, but getting the rights to release them has been an issue.

Actually that is newer footage than what I have seen before. The show itself has been around for years but not that particular footage. Very good quality, I hope this stuff keeps leaking.

Also on a Van Halen note Alex is working on a new Van Halen album with Steve Lukather. Taking stuff they are finding in the vaults and trying to refine them into some new songs. Not much is known but it appears to be confirmed.

Evidently Eddie had thousands of hours of tape in the 5150 Studio

Yup, and not good enough for Eddie probably still means it’s fantastic. There are lots of ideas and riffs that they have to choose from. I will take it anyway they want to deliver at this point. 👍

In regards to other boots out there...it seems the common one that's been out (the lower quality one) is from the second night of a two night stay. This one apparently is from the first night.

I'm a massive, massive VH nut. I look forward to what Al and Steve are doing. I'm just glad Steve clarified what's actually happening the other day.

Another funny thing, the original link I posted was posted by a guy who apparently got the videos off Noel Monk somehow after he passed away.

The link that is now active...that user's name is Biff Malibu Media. Biff Malibu is apparently the name Michael Anthony used to use as an alias back in the day when staying at hotels. I'm sure it's not Michael or anybody directly related to the band who posted the video but somone in the VH orbit certainly posted the video.

I think Wolfie owns it all

Imagine if we get a new Van Halen album of studio outtakes that ends up having vocals by all four of their singers? Dave, Sammy, Mitch, and Gary. Supposedly they had an entire second album nearly finished with Cherone that was shelved. I remember hearing at the time that they felt it had more of a classic Van Halen sound and less of the experimental elements of Van Halen III. Did anybody hear the track Mitch Malloy made with the demo they gave him?

There is only one singer in Van Halen bro...

Yeah I've heard this and also. There's also the same music with Gary singing with different lyrics out there too. It's called That's Why I Love You.

Also Wolfie owns EVH Music now, which is the guitar company. Al still is in charge of the catalog and is the decision maker as far as what to do with the all the tapes. At least that's the way I understand it.

I've run into so many things while packing up to move...one thing was an English assignment that was titled "The History of Van Halen". I also remember putting Valerie "on notice" on April 11, 1982.

I disagree…but that’s cool. There are many who agree with you. I’m one of those who liked just about everything the band ever did regardless of who was on the mic.

I don't believe that I've heard anything from Van Halen since the 80's lol. That 5150 album was about the last thing I remember they did. OK that is wrong, I remember the OU812 and the FUCK albums too.
