MMA: UFC, Strikeforce, etc.

Did you see the look on Bones Jones? How about Chael?

He makes Bones Jones look soft--if that's even possible.

Yeah, I don't see it Fear.

One of the nastiest men since Tyson in his prime is emerging on that show. That's really it in a nutshell.

I'd take him over Bones Jones. I'd take him over Silva. The only guy who I believe would have a chance is GSP--and that's only because GSP could take him down and ride him.

Wow, so basically a repeat performance tonight of what he did to Adam Cella, to prove that was no fluke ?

He punched Bubba one time. I believe the fight was over in 8 seconds or less.

I thought he either crushed his eye socket with one single punch, or punched his eyeball out.

People stood there in silence, worried about his health. They finally rolled a bleeding Bubba over onto his side, and Bubba said something was wrong with the inside of his eye. It was pretty scary.

I'm not sure either of his knockout victims will ever be the same again--at least mentally.

I was about to try a supplement that Joe Rogan recommends and says he takes it himself, with good results, because he seemed "real" when talking about it.
Then I read some stuff like this about him on another forum, that puts him in a completely different light. What do you guys think ? Is Rogan full of **** when he recommends certain supplements ?

"not surprised that rogan is behind it too. Hes always been interested into all sortos of fake "third eye" opening silliness and also hes always been a very manipulative person who know he has a gullible fanbase that will buy into anything he sells cause they think hes honest and real.

Sad to see how low he got, but anyone who spends money for this, is asking to be ripped off and deserve what they get.

since he became popular with his podcast and gaines an audience that isnt necessarily connected with comedy and listens to whatever he says and trusts it, he started promoting everything that is "mind enhancement" or "body modification".

at first it was mostly out of his own experience, then he started having people from that scene promoting their own scams: sensory deprivation tanks, nootropic, growth hormones and all sorts of real and fake drugs.

he's become alex jones but for the angry white kid who do youtube videos screming about conspiracies and buy pills cause theu hope to "have a mind opening experience". and hes got tons of money from this. "

I haven't heard anything bad about Joe Rogan.

I have however personally had some bad experiences with Dana White and the Fertitta brothers.

Thanks for those updates McD5.
Did anyone of you happen to see today's fights on Fuel ?
I was planning on watching but just now realized it was fought in Sweden time, so they already happened. I see from the scorecard that Mittrione KO'd DeFries just 19 seconds into the 1st round. Did anyone see that ?

Rant :

So sick and tired of hearing "fans" bust on fighters like GSP and Sonnen and others, for their "ground" fighting style. Why do you think they call it MMA ? Duh. Look up what the word "mixed" means...or even the words "martial arts", for an added education...If you want to see strictly "stand-up" then go watch boxing. Everyone is obsessed with seeing a virtual street-fight or brawl, that they can't appreciate a strategic fight, or watching a guy do whatever it takes to win, depending on his strengths.

Some fans act like they would only be happy if there was a brawl and knockout within seconds of the opening round, but those same fans, would then complain that they wasted money on paying for a fight, that lasted only a couple minutes or less, which is what usually happens in a brawl.

The goal of the fight is to win it, in whatever way possible, NOT to entertain blood-thirsty fans. If you want entertainment, go watch WWE or WWF, or some other similar Reality Show. These guys literally put their LIVES on the line, and their long-term health, so why should they unnecessarily put themselves in harm's way, just for your entertainment ??

Avoiding the strikes, and going for the takedown, if that's what a fighter's strength is - is NOT a sign of fear, but a sign of intelligence - knowing how to win it.

And if the first thing you think of, when you see 2 MMA fighters grappling on the ground, is "gay porn", maybe it's not an indication of the quality of the fighter, but actually an indication of the possibility that you need to come out of the closet of your repressed sexuality. Not that there's anything wrong with that. You just need to stop faking the "tough guy" persona, and admit what you're really all about.

End of rant.
