Man cannot live by Redskins alone
On May 3, I posted that the Bucs were 5 over, while the Nats were a .500 team. The only thing that's changed is that the Bucs are now 9 over. :)
 
Kevin Gausman, one of the Orioles young stud pitchers, gets the start tonight against Toronto. He's not as filthy as Bundy (who is injured), but he's pretty nasty.
 
I pillaged my fantasy league, getting Trout AND Kershaw. Those two guys are a big chunk of why I'm 6-1, and two games up on the next closest team.

Speaking of playing well, the Bucs improved to 10 games over last night, with their win over the hapless Cubbies. We're also one of six teams with a winning percentage over .600 (.609)

It's actually a helluva lot of fun to be a Pirates fan again. RAISE IT!!!
 
Tough loss in the opener in Detroit. K'd Miggy three times, came back on Verlander, still took the "L." Hopefully we'll get 'em today.

LET'S GO BUCS!!!

Chris Davis goes 4 for 4 with 2 dingers & 3RBIs, leading the O's to a comeback win over the Nats, & ruining Zimmerman's 3HR day. Monster!
 
Took the series (home-and-home) from the Tigers, 3-1, and TWICE silenced that monster lineup (and the best hitter in the game) for 11 innings.

Heartbreak Week for the Tigers. You do 'em like that, after we twice beat them 1-0 in 11 innings.

Looks like they got a little revenge tonight, but you'll have that. They (and just about everyone else this year) took Game 1 from us.
 
Honestly though, rockstar, put Chris DAVIS on the Bucs, and we're not just a playoff contender, we're a World Series contender. You think I'm kidding. That's all we need is one guy that can flat out bash. And that dude is MONEY.

I really can't believe how stellar our pitching has been. #1 in batting average against, #2 in team ERA. If we juuuuust had the bats....

Yes, but he's the only one who's consistent. And even his numbers are well off of last year's ridiculous pace.

Oh, and I knew we'd slump at some point, after winning 16 of 20, but it's awfully damned inconvenient to do it when the Reds are in town.

The nats just aren't clicking.

There's still plenty of time and, as anyone who follows my posts knows, I hate the drama queens with every up and down of the season, so they could still turn it into something meaningful - there's absolutely enough time for that.

But i can't help but see how another team that proclaimed greatness before actually achieving it (in my opinion, a running theme in sports) is suffering through the season thus far.

I really hope the redskins don't take a page out of the capitals and nationals book in that regard. Pro tip - no one gives a **** if you had a good year last year. Show us what you're doing now.

edit: and oh, while I'm not an O's fan, it does make me happy to see a (semi) local team doing well. it would be all kinds of ironic of the O's were able to turn last season (which to me appeared to be dumb luck) into a successful season this year and the nats (which appeared to me to be successful team building and driven by young talent) weren't.
 
Garrett "GI" Jones becomes just the second player (first Buc) to hit a ball into the Allegheny River on the fly. That tied it in the 8th. Bucs win in the 11th on an RBI single by Travis Snider. Back to 13 over, and tied with the Reds again for 2nd in baseball's best division.

And yes, I absolutely DO have to admit to chuckling a little bit at the Nats fans who have talked junk about the Bucs. Sub-.500? We ain't bout that no more. Hold it down for us. :p

Do the Orioles & Crush Davis play in Pittsburgh this year? Those buildings across the river look like juicy targets. ;)
