Pinot Noir...in Chicago IM FREEZING!

Back to Miami tomorrow :)

Celebrating the 29th anniversary of my favorite brewery. I've been coming here since they opened the doors as Clipper City. The party includes, food, 29th Anniversary beer, vintage beer tastings some cool SWAG, and a 2020 vintage sixer to take home...

I broke open a couple bottles today watching some college football.

First time trying buffalo trace. It's pretty good for cheapish whiskey and I got the huge bottle so it needs to be drank lol. The Barrel and Dickels kills it though, IMO

If you like the Dickel 9 year, then you will love the 15 year. It's a little sweeter, richer, flavorful and doesn't cost that much more than the 9 year. It's a relative bargain for well-aged whiskey. I've always wanted to try Barrell but it's expensive, (and I'm a cheap bastard...probably one of the cheapest that you'll ever meet and damn proud of it), that said, I'm willing to spend for good whiskey, but a lot of their products are finished and, with rare exceptions, I don't care for finished whiskey. I can get 3-5 bottles of WT101 for the price of a bottle of Barrell. Do yourself a favor, and snag a bottle of the 15year Dickel...you will not be disappointed...

SkinsFTW ...I'm practicing what I preached.
I'm celebrating a very productive 3-day weekend.
I blame you for triggering me to pour this one...😉

Yeah the WT101 seems to be about the best under 25 bottle I've tried so far. OF100 is good too. I much prefer the MM46 for 35$ over the 25$ standard stuff.

My store here didn't have the 15 year Dickels though and I noticed that it's only 40% while the 9 year is 50%. WTF is that all about?

Some good one's that I'm not fortunate to get out here in Idaho. I'd love to get my hands on either of the Dickels :) (pun intended)

That John J Bowman is fantastic. I've been lucky enough to find just one here and I nurse it.

I noticed the difference in proofs too.
Doesn't matter...the 15 is better....

Agreed.
It's one that's in the regular rotation and
one of two whiskeys that I consider "decanter-worthy", the other being OGD BiB.

I had to try some new scotch tonight. I have a couple different Glenmorangie that I like so I got this one a while ago. Also, I've never tried JW Green until tonight. I guess it's ok, not sure yet how much I like it. For the glenmorangie I think I prefer one of my other bottles.

I should have brought more Scotch back from Europe though. I was told that 1 bottle per person is the limit but nobody looked at my suitcase at the airport. We took like 8 bottles with us going there.

The Loch Lomond scotch is the best one I've tried and I can't find that around here.

Also, the Lagg is really good but I don't drink much because I won't be able to replace it.

Have you had any Abraham Bowman? Some of the best barrel proof whiskey out there. But exceedingly hard to get.
I seem to be having trouble with pic attachments. They are sideways!

Not yet! I've found that pics look sideways when you attach them, but orient correctly when you actually post..

This is an excellent Winter beer from my favorite local brewery
I'm a big fan of Sam Adams Cream Stout, and if you can find it and the Cherry Wheat at the same time, you can make a chocolate/cherry bomb. (We were bored and mixing drafts at Taco Mac one night after work.)
I'm sure you've had Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout, right?

Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout is one of my favorites.
I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore
and rarely buy it and my tastes vary widely, depending on my mood. It can be anything from a light lager, to an enamel-stripping IPA and almost anything in between. The only exceptions are Belgians & Hefeweizens...
I love Guinness Draught and Black & Tans...
