The title says it all. I've always enjoyed these types of threads on other pages. In addition to seeing what others like, I always seem to learn something and have gotten some great recommendations over the years. I think that there's an older bourbon thread, but it's buried somewhere in the ether. So, what do you like? What do you dislike? Bourbon? Tequila? Rum? Wine or Cider? Pick your poison....anything alcohol related can go here. If you have a favorite cocktail, please share the recipe.

I'm a whiskey drinker, mainly bourbon & rye. When it comes to Scotch, I'm a shameless Islay whiskey whore. I usually drink it neat. On the rare occasion when I have a cocktail, it's usually an Old-Fashioned. Mrs. Skinsfan, aka, the great enabler, is a bourbon and rye girl, but she lean towards rye whiskey. Her favorites are Bulleit & Knob Creek. I'm also a very Cheap Bastard, and proud of it and am always open to recommendations for reasonably priced libations.

Oh....and please post pics! I'll get it started. Yesterday I finally got my hand on a Knob Creek 18 year, and did a totally non-scientific SBS (side by side),tasting last night. With the exception of the Maple flavored stuff, I like every iteration of Knob Creek. If you ever get a chance to visit the Beam distillery,(where Knob Creek is made), I can highly recommend it. It's one of the better tours on the Bourbon Trail. If you're lucky you can dump a barrel and you can even help bottle your own. Pictured are the pours that I compared last night, rinsing, filling and, finally, the bottle itself. As for the tasting last night? KC 15 was the winner.....

My go to is h2o. When I’m feeling frisky I’ll have a zero ginger ale. (And, yes, I’m still pretty fun at parties.) 😉

Brother Om and I are bourbon guys. There is no alcohol I've found that I don't like at least at some level. I have never tried Scotch however. I rarely deviate from Bourbon however, as I was born in Lexington, Kentucky, and if they find out I'm drinking whiskey's not named bourbon, I'll get kicked right out of the state :) I like all kinds of bourbons... currently drinking 'Baby Jane' - a small batch bourbon version of 'Widow Jane'. Some of my favs are Eagle Rare, Bulleit, Blantons, but I love them all.

I am a big fan of quality Tequila as well although I don't claim to have any expertise there. We were in Mexico a few years ago and I became a big fan of Anejo which I think has all of the notes that make Tequila tequila, but also has some attributes that remind me of bourbon as well. Glad you resurrected the thread for the non-H20 afficianados.

Hope this is ok in the booze thread...

Switched from alcohol to cannabis a few years ago and have never looked back.

Usually spend gamedays working through some high quality hash rosin strains and then get into an edible for blast-off before gametime.

It's absolutely ok...you like what you like!

...and in keeping with the beverage theme....have you ever tried "Vibations Cannabis & Electrolyte" drink mix, the high dose version? I heard from a friend ;) that it works fast and gives a killer buzz....

You know that Baby Jane is from.....gulp....New York! I think it's blended from some of their own distillate, along with some from KY & TN, so you're "Kentucky Cred" is still intact. I think that of the 200+ bottles on hand, we have , 1 gin, 1 vodka, 1 tequila, 1 Armagnac, 2 rums, 1 Amaro & a bottle of triple sec....the rest is whiskey. The one tequila I have , (El Tesoro Reposado Single Barrel), was aged for 10 months in ex bourbon barrels. Maybe that's why I like it....

FTR- I’ve not always been an agnostic. When I used to imbibe it was either beer or

Always Titos with fresh juice. Today homemade lemon/limeade garnished with a thin slice of mango. Watching the Hurricanes

My 27 yo SO graduated medical school today in the DR. She came from a poor background and her parents busted their butt's to pay for medical school. She also busted her butt and graduated summa cum laude.

Please tip your glass for her tonight! Salut!!!

PS - she can't wait to learn Redskins football when she arrives here in Miami

Congrats to her. Awesome :allhail:

No, I like it as cold as possible so I drink it out of whatever it came in.

In Belgium they always wanted us to pour it into a glass but I thought that was just a European thing.

Makes sense and explains your preference for bottles.
Drinking out of glass is a beer thing 😉
It tastes better out of a glass.
Most brewers will tell you that to get the best expression of their beer is to have it dispensed from a keg in a proper glass for the style.
That said, most people don't keep kegs on hand, so pouring beer in a glass is the next best thing.
Sounds kinda/sorta douchey, but it's true. I learned that fun fact when I built/refurbished this bad-boy years ago.
The owner would sell me sixtels directly, until the state of MD tightened regulations on kegs.
