My wife enjoys whiskey & bourbon but she likes it mixed with 7up so I buy Seagrams 7 for her. She ran out a few months ago when I wasn't around and poured herself a nice whiskey 7 using a bottle of Eagle Rare 10 year. GRRRR! lol. We have a special place for "her" cheap stuff and somehow the bottle got put back in that spot.

BTW I just noticed you are in Idaho? Where abouts?

Just outside Boise, in Meridian closer to Star (if you're familiar).

My wife likes bourbon, but she prefers rye and loves an Old Fashioned.

I am a cheap date when it comes to beer. My wife is more of the liquor person, I just drink the old codger beer and like it. Natural light does taste better out of the old cans just like Miller Lite does.

First one of these I've bought in a long time, mainly because Beam jacked the price up years ago. Booker's used to be readily available in the $60.00 range and is the 1st barrel proof whiskey that that I ever had. Now, around the Baltimore Metro area anyway, it's in the $139.00 to $189.99 price range, when you can find it. Fuck that.
I snagged this one for $99.00 at a state store in South central PA. I'm glad that I blew the cobwebs and dust out of my wallet. I forgot how much I love this one..

Any Chartreuse fans here? I'm still searching for a bottle of the green stuff, but the "cocktail trend" makes it scarce, according to liquor store owners and bartenders. Problem is it's made by monks, and they make what they make. There is no plan to increase output, so you just don't see it on store shelves. Ah well.

My main go-to cocktail is a super-dry gin martini with olives. Having the vermouth within six feet is good enough but maybe a little too close for comfort. I like the dry gin style best, but don't have a particular favorite.

And Ferndaleskins I'm with you on cheap beer. I was a touring musician with very little income during my misspent yoot, and drank mostly PBR, Black Label, and 40s (at band practice no one is going to ask you to share your backwash). 15 years ago or so, I developed a fondness for Schlitz (the original recipe). I can't stand most IPA - it's like chewing on pine cones. My new go-to is good pilsner in a liter stein at a local pub. That's a trend I hope gains broad popularity!

Trying to cut back on alcohol intake especially while sitting around at home. Sat outside by the fire watching VCU lose to Steton Hall last night and had a couple of these. Not too bad. It had that distinctive Corona aroma. I also bought the Guinness 0 that I need to crack open & try this weekend.

Agreed. That was a thoughtful gift. It's not a regular in the rotation, but I'll pick up the occasional bottle when it goes on sale. There was at least half a bottle left after the tailgate, (the Johnny Drum & Michter's were bottle kills), so the girl who brought it let me take it home. I'm really trying to reel in buying whiskey, unless it's a special bottle or re-stocking a staple. If I were to give myself a grade on not buying....I'd give myself a C-...but I'm getting better! Back in 2017 we did a private tasting at the the Stitzel-Weller distillery and that was one of the offerings.
