I'm not sure that Sellers doesn't share some of the blame on that one.
I guess I would have to watch the play again. I agree that this could have been the reason. It just appeared that Sellers was fairly far upfield when the ball was thrown. For Sellers to reach the flat and then run upfield would take a bit of time and the corner had to run back and make a dive for that ball. I just thought he was throwing it away and screwed up. I admit, I could be wrong though.
Omni, I wondered about that too, I wonder if its more because he is more comfortable or is it a systemic thing that Mcnabb isnt grasping. IMHO If Shanny could make Plummer into a probowler , I dont know how he could fail with Mcrapp unless Mcrapp pretty much refused to change at all.
I don't necessarily think McNabb refuses to change. I just think mentally he is not capable of changing quickly. I think this is where a major mistake was made in trading for him, although, the coaches cannot know how fast he will grab their philosophies.
There is more of an element of surprise up under center than shotgun. I think that gives Rex an advantage. If Shanny can make Plummer into a pro-bowler, I have faith that he could turn Rex into a solid starter for the short term. In the Rex to Start thread, I posted some of Plummer's numbers with and without Shanny. I am not saying that he can do this with Grossman, but it is promising (not sure that is the right word I am looking for).
exactly...plus Grossman throws a horrible long ball. he doesn't have the arm strength.
I don't think it matters how strong his arm is. His arm is strong enough to play well in this league. There are guys that have worse arms than his having better careers at this point. There are also guys with stronger arms having worse careers. If he eliminates the mistakes, he is fine with me.
FS the bonus of a placeholder type QB is we dont have a huge amount invested in him, if we find a better option in free agency we can grab him (Collins maybe?).
I hope you are not suggesting Todd Collins over Grossman. Collins had his moment, it is time to move on.
