That's pretty sad if they respond to correspondence with computer-generated replies like that.

Not totally surprising, but sad.

Mine don't go back several generations. I put myself on the list in the late 80's and became a season ticket holder over a decade ago, but I have to admit that letter looked an awful lot like the one I will probably write soon. I think the key is send an actual letter, emails get junkpiled and autoresponded to.
 
It just floors me that they don't even read the letters. That they'd just respond automatically with some nonsense.

They should at least have some software that can discern between positive letters and negative letters, and then respond accordingly. Or don't respond at all.
 
I can't agree there at all. No response would be bad business and they get SO MANY emails that reading them all in a timely manner is impossible. Bruce Allen isn't untouchable, he responds to people in time, I know of more than a few fans he HAS responded to. That letter was emailed, an actual written letter sent in the mail would get something on company letterhead, maybe still a form respone but that wasn't the case here I am sure.
 
I don't really want to be the one to say it, but I hope we have a plan beyond not re-signing Haslett. As mediocre to flat out bad as he's been on sum over the years, getting rid of him isn't going to magically 'fix' anything. I would also be a little afraid we try to promote someone in house. I hope they are whispering sweet nothings in Wade Phillips ear, but if he's not open to the possibility, I hope we find some young, aggressive guy looking to prove he's the next big thing. We cannot afford another failed or mediocre DC, especially with as much as Gruden has struggled this year. So enjoy the day, but after today, our defense suckitude will never again be the fault of Jim Haslett. Let's get busy finding a truly talented leader for that side of the ball so we don't have to spend another 5 years playing the blame game.

Raheem Morris and the bang up job he's done with the defensive secondary. Just look at how Amerson and others have grown into major on-field liabilities under Morris's tutelage. Totally lost out on the field. He'll be a good choice as a successor!
 
I may slit my wrists and become a Panthers fan if they promote him.

Not necessarily in that order...

Dear God, I pray it's a courtesy interview as not to offend him. Morris sucks, plain and simple. Kiffin had a good system with the right personal in Tampa, and Morris couldn't even come close to keeping a good thing going. He's more "rah rah" then results, and has been said to be too close to the players, and would let them get away with all sorts of stuff in Tampa.

Allen said pretty much that it is all on the coach. Coach makes that decision, that's the coaches perogative, Coach will be looking into that blah blah blah. I didn't see where Allen was involved at all, even though he flat said he is responsible for the debacle i.e. everything that has occurred results wise. Allen further said no one is higher than him to answer to. Pretty much I read all this as saying we'll look at everyone else but myself. He sounded just like a politician and probably picked that up from his family, move your lips and say nothing.

He was rationalizing about the moves and the salaries and really didn't seem to understand the shortcomings of those decisions. Allen is really the president and needs to stay in the office. I like him he's good for the team but not in a role to fill out the roster. He said if he can just find the right formula we would be winning consistently. At that point I tuned him out. Yeah right Bruce, the formula. There is no formula fool. I can't believe they didn't bust him on "the formula" comments.
 
I kinda hate to bring this up but sometimes "promotion-from-within" becomes an attractive option when public knowledge of a "difficult environment in which to be successful" might make potential well qualified candidates a bit leery of an interview.

Allen's stay in Tampa was anything but smooth. He came in after Rich McKay had built the team with Dungy and after Gruden had won the Super Bowl.

The players got older and Tampa fell from elite to a wildcard as Allen failed to draft replacements for Sapp, Brooks, Lynch, etc.

Allen might have had a say but it was Jon that picked the players he wanted.
 
The guy on the defensive side of the ball I am willing to think about promoting to DC is Kirk Olivadotti.
 
Ok, so let me get this straight. Gruden is supposed to be in charge of his staff by all accounts from team, and he indicated he was leaning toward keeping Haslett, then he is fired 24 hours later.

So, let me re-ask the question.

Who is really in charge of this circus?

Another issue. If Allen doesn't understand that signing 32 year old players in FA to big money deals is a mistake for a 3-13 team regardless of whether they remain healthy or not, then he is hopeless.
