Good morning! It's August 1st. One more day closer to the end of one of the hottest Summers I've ever experienced. I have always preferred Winter and Fall, I'm just looking forward to it this year way more than normal.
 
Well, just got back from my 25th year High School reunion. Meh!

For the first time in over 3 weeks, I slept more than 3 hours. In fact, I slept for almost 9. Great morning everybody.

This morning, I take my eldest child to college. I'm not sure how we arrived at this day so quickly. Guess that's a universal parenting phenomenon/sentiment. I'm excited for her - as I told her...how cool is it that you get to spend 4 years of your life learning new stuff, hanging out with great friends, and generally having experiences you'll remember your whole life.

Not sure how I'm going to feel next week when it starts to sink in that my daughter will really never 'live with' us full-time again. It's going to be a much quieter place - probably a little too quiet.

Anyway, felt like sharing. Hope everybody has a great Friday. Leave work at noon - just tell the boss I said it was okay :)

Are you ok? I recall what it was like on that day when my daughter went off to college.

I've spent the day with house cleaning and checking in at BGO. Last round of cleaning tomorrow (a couple hours at most). Now we have enormous sized thunderstorms coming this way. Warnings and watches are up - and a flood watch too. We've had fourteen inches of rain in the last six days with more to come.
 
I'm good BB. Hard not to feel an impact, but I think it'll be harder in a couple days when I realize she's really not here with us, and won't be ever again like she has been for the past 18 years. Funny how kids have no idea what they mean to you.
 
Good morning everyone.

Life has taken another one of those turns yesterday afternoon - but I knew this was happening. Too, most of you could see that there have a few problems of late.

I had a brief visit with a couple of the doctors and more restrictions have been placed on me. For the foreseeable future, I can't drive and there is this issue of home confinement - to a certain degree. My gym visits are being adjusted to fit what is going on inside this old body.

No pity party stuff here please. I know the challenges and this is the latest stuff that is happening. It is being confronted with determination, a spirited fight, and the desire to keep a certain since of normalcy in this phase of life.

I'm still determined to make a gathering in the future - especially if it is BGO-centered. The goals remain the same. The challenges will not be ignored. But make no mistake about it - I WILL be at one of our gatherings in the future.
 
Not sure what's going on, but wishing you well and thinking good thoughts for you - you are one of the good guys BB :cheers:

Are there BGO-official-sanctioned-something events? We should absolutely do that! I know Mike and El have been talking about the 9ers game, we should really do tailgating or something as well.
 
If it is your cup of tea or not, I am praying for you BB. Looking forward to seeing you guys at a game. 49ers game is a good one for me!

Awesome to hear man. I was a little worried you'd get frustrated with not feeling good. Glad to hear you found a solution.

I got lazy there for a while, and was only doing one long run a week; 10+ miles, but only doing it once doesn't help all that much. I've gotten serious again, and am now 3 pounds away from breaking that elusive 200-pound mark.

I'm really anxious to get to 198. Not just because it's under two bills, but because that will mark 70 pounds total loss.

It's a really nice feeling to look in the mirror and only be slightly frustrated, instead of thoroughly disgusted. It's nice too that I get annoyed by a "slow" five-mile run. A year-and-a-half ago, I could barely jog a mile, and it took me about 16 minutes. Quality of life is a helluva gift to give yourself.

Keep doing work, brother. I'm proud of you, and really enjoy sharing the fitness journey with you.
