While I can appreciate the shot we took to Thomas in the endzone on 1st down with just over a minute to go, it essentially confirmed what I thought that we were done. We did best today in the 4th when we were able to get something on 1st down for Haskins. Sure enough, the 2nd and 3rd and long situations that loomed derailed him and it did not help that the pass pro went missing at those critical spots in the game. Haskins is not the guy in crunch time that saves your ass when your team needs a 2nd and 10, 3rd and 12 type play. At least not yet, maybe never. I would love to have that 1st down back and see how the ending turned out. In the end, the deserving team won today.

2. Hopkins cost us a chance at an OT win today. No excuse - he needs to be immediately challenged.
3. The gameplan did not help Dwayne. Letting Seattle get a big lead early and having Dwayne pass it 54 times was a recipe for disaster.
4. McKissic was averaging 4 yds per carry in the first half and better in the 2nd and we got totally away from the run game. We desperately need another 1st/2nd down RB to help him out.
5. I only fault Haskins for the 2nd INT, but that was a terrible decision. You saw how effective he can be on the run when he stops trying to be Aaron Rodgers. he is a terrible 'on the move' passer and they should tell him they don't want to see that again. You take off - run the ball.
6. Moses clearly wasn't okay to return - terrible decision that may have cost us the game. A healthy scrub is better than a guy who can't bear weight on one leg.
7. If the Giants lose, this won't hurt us much, but we missed a big opportunity today.
8. I'll give the team credit for playing better in the 2nd half and making a game of it.

Not hitting it, we were in pass only mode from there on out. That hurt as they just keyed on Haskins. You basically either won it there, or made it very difficult on yourself.

5. Disagreed - The first one he threw it where there were 2 WRs and 2 DBs in the area. He was rolling right and had an easy shot at throwing it away or scrambling for a minimal gain... securing the FG attempt. We were down 6 - 0 at that point

Big picture, you take the moral victory today. The playoff talk this year is circumstantial and wouldn't be realistic at 6-8 had there been stronger teams in the division. To say that a young nucleus of players with some critical injuries today was able to give themselves a shot at the end against a top tier team is a credit to Rivera and the character of this team. It could have got ugly today and these are the kinds of small steps that I think could pay huge dividends down the road.

yeah the Defense is legit. It was further proven today. Holding the Seahawks and Wilson to 20 points keeps you in the game vs 28 teams.

On #5, yeah, it was a poor decision but I guess I'm giving him a bit of a pass just because I believe it hit the receiver in the hands and he bumped it up resulting in the INT. Catch that and it's a stupid decision that results in a big play. I haven't watched it again, that 's just my memory of that play (which may be defective lol). Agree we'd normally expect to lose this game. But it goes to show you how you can win games you have no business being in with a good defense.

*** edit *** just saw the video posted. It was terrible and hit the defenders hands as much as the receivers. That one's on him too. I'm actually more upset that he didn't run the ball as he had all kinds of room. Not a necessary risk to take there.

Love the poster, but man do I hate that take. In no year are the playoffs circumstantial. We literally had every chance to win this game despite all the miscues and mistakes and injuries. I hope the team isn't telling themselves this loss was no big deal because the Seahawks are so much better than us and no one expected us to win and we are rebuilding... etc... That's the loser mentality this team has almost always had..

At the end of the day, the Gruden type teams we used to watch would have had us turning off the television in the 3rd quarter. I guess I am simply eluding to the fact that I really like how Rivera kept this team engaged through to the end. A building block that I do not think that can overlooked and something that could pay dividends in year 2 and 3.

We can't *find* a QB. You know where I stand on *develop*. First, find a QB. Then develop. We differ that they've found one in Haskins. I think the really good QBs rise and show, at least their great potential, even on horrific teams, or with multiple teams. I'm just not seeing it with Dwayne. As always, just one beat down fan's opinion.

If I had to guess, Carson Wentz is our next 'QB of the future'.

Sam Darnold would be something to think about . He’s a really good smart QB that’s mobile ... he’s just in a horrible situation. He won’t cost as much as Wentz either . But I’m with you on that Wentz thing to. Isn’t Cam on a 1 yr deal with Pats?

I'll endorse this version, to a point. We are competitive even in our bad outings.... although that was also the case for much of Gruden's career. If you don't win the division and/or make the playoffs but 'competed' it's really just semantics though. Seems to me it's just as bad. Today we had a chance (whether we *should have* or not) to win a game that would've put us in commanding control of the division and we wilted. Again. Seems like more of the same to me.

Those are still losses, but the team is not as bad as what was expected coming in.

We have also identified some major issues that take this team from 'competitive' to winning. Better than average QB play (and this is not exclusive to Haskins) and this team is 10-4 right now and resting their starters going into the final 2 weeks of the season. That does not include any additions to playmakers or defensive talent. This TEAM has been coached up to a point where we are not truly out of any game, regardless of the team on the other side of the ball.

This is a cultural thing, that nobody on the other side of the ball is unbeatable, nor are they an easy target. This draft and offseason could set us up to be a serious contender a heck of a lot faster than we expected.

oh, and Scott Turner didnt' do any favors today asking Haskins to throw the ball 50 times... so that point is not lost. Coaching is part of the 'improvement' I said was identified.
