And this guy gets to lead us in our new fight song. The team could sell official logo beer bottles. The marketing is endless.

What a dick.

He will not succeed. This is a classic example of a trademark squatter. They never win against bigger corporations and he has already acknowledged that he will surrender any name an NFL team may want. He is just a small time hustler who knows he is going to lose.

What a dick.

That's an understatement. "McCaulay told the Times-Dispatch. “I went to the extreme of buying a lot of merchandise, making it my brand, and selling it.” Don't know how much he ordered, but from looking at his site, I'd guess 72 of the mugs and 72 of the wine glasses. From his site, "If we do not meet the minimum of 72 wine glasses then they will cancel the order. You will need to come to my home in Alexandria to pick up your wine glasses." States the same for the coffee mugs. The shirts are made to order, he doesn't have stock, and they are hideous.

Anyone else still believe that when the insider threat, Riverboat Ron, showed up this wasn't one of the discussion items on the agenda? This didn't happen over night. It's been orchestrated by many cooperating agencies in society.

“A squatter reserves a name with no intention to use it,” McCaulay told the Times-Dispatch. “I went to the extreme of buying a lot of merchandise, making it my brand, and selling it.”
Hope you're right BB

Well looks like some dude trademarked all ‘potential’ team names before the Dan could claim any. I’m sure the dude didn’t get any tipoffs from the FedEx minority owner or anything tho

Edit: Seems MM already posted this info & I just missed it.

He is going up against the NFL and knows it. On twitter yesterday afternoon, McCauley said that he is willing to give an NFL franchise any of the names away for free.

That being said, he did take the initiative to register the various names. I applaud the entrepreneurial spirit. The Redskins should give him a quick $25K for his troubles - if they want a particular name - and be done with it. It should take no more than a few days. Otherwise, see you in court where the NFL and Redskins have pockets far deeper than he can see.

People do it for websites all the time, in fact I made money from a site I owned that someone else wanted much in the same way. Seems pretty sharp to me if you have the capital to do it. Good for him I say.

I don’t know.

How about using your time and resources to create something instead of trying to be clever and cock-block someone who is?

I prefer the Washington See Yas.

Time to go after the NFL and end it. It can be done. And the Left will help, if not lead, all the way. :)

It's not a cockblock if he sells or gives it to them. It's called smart business, and anyone is welcome to go buy a domain or copyright a name anytime they want to. And really...."create something" as if this is a noble endeavor? Please, it's a PC circle jerk that Snyder has caved to, there's nothing noble abpout it when it's based on lies that the mob bought hook line and sinker. Anyone smart enough to have seen it coming and profit off of this idiocy is alright in my book. I only wish I had thought of it first so I could be the one sticking it to em for greenbacks. To hell with ALL of em.

Thanks for requesting clarification.

I wasn’t referencing Snyder at all. I was referencing lazy people who squat on domain names with no intention to ever use them for anything other than legal extortion.
