Shanny said that DS's preferential treatment of RGIII has caused dysfunction. Anyone know of another player's parent who is allowed in the dressing room? Do you think Shanny okayed this without being coerced?
1. I've never seen, nor heard, Shanny say that, "DS's preferential treatment of RGIII has caused dysfunction." And I don't give the media any benefit of doubt. Either to the existence of any relationship, or the extent of one that does exist.
2. I heard numerous players, local and nationally, say it doesn't happen often, but it has happened. Keyshaun said Parcells allowed his homies in the locker after games. Much ado about nothing.
3. If this is all it takes to make you have a horrible defense that can't tackle, and special teams that can't do anything, then Shammy's sucktitude is worse than we think.
Where do you think RGIII felt he got the authority at the beginning of the season to say he and the coaches had an 'understanding' as to how he would be used going forward?
Shammy was the first person I heard say that if Robert was ready week 1, he would start.
I'd say DS told Shanahan to make sure nothing serious happens to him. That he IS the franchise qb.
And I'd say Shammy DOES have final say on all things football. And HIS history has shown that he's too goddamn arrogant to not shoot down anything the HE didn't like/want.
Pay attention to the words Shanahan uses...he's doing a straight faced mocking by parroting things he's been told to do. Sitting RGIII for his 'protection' is probably the final slap Shanny will be able to muster.
If it's a slap in the face, it's illogical to have waited this long, since it infers that he's had the power to do so since the preseason.
There's a two decade old pattern continuing to play itself out. That Snyder can't even address the press, except through nameless spokesmen, tells me the guy is a jerk. But, in the NFL, owners, and especially Snyder, scatter like cockroaches when the drama gets high.
Brilliant! Snyder needs to hire football people and step away.
Unless...
I don't agree with what's happening. Therefore, Snyder should step in and play GM again.
Got it.
Meh. If you disagree with something just disagree with it. This "I'm above the fray" act you've got going is about as high school as it gets. And frankly, your fellow fans and board-mates deserve better treatment than that.
Never meant it as being above the fray. Just don't personally see the hysteria as being useful. What's going on, really sucks. And I hope it gets better. Were I in charge moving forward, it would warrant more urgency on my part.
And if the opinions and reactions of our fellow fans and board-mates was so goddamn important, they wouldn't be questioned/debated, every single day, in every single thread. Don't single me out.
Unless you think I DO deserve it.
So, one of the top stories in the CNN news cycle this morning is 'Rookie of the Year Benched.'
For those of you who don't think the rest of the world is noticing, well, I'd say it is.
So what?
