Who says we are paying a lot to a #2 receiver?

Garçon and Jackson would be #1 receivers on more than a few teams.

It's not like we are being saddled with Mike Wallace or Percy Harvin who were way overpaid for their services.

Ultimately, paying Griffin and the receivers may mean we have to say goodbye to a Morris or Reed when their contracts come up.

That's a trade -off all teams have to make at some point.

The Broncos let Decker and Moreno go despite their contributions in 2013.

They drafted Ball and Thomas and will depend upon them to be part of the future.

My only concern is the chance that RG3 is permanently damaged.

If he looks anything like he did in his first season, I believe we will go 11-5.

If his career is over, he'll be benched at the bye, and I believe we'll go 8-8.
 
If Griffin is better, physically and maybe more importantly, mentally, it should be a respectable season. We have offensive weapons. The Defense is still a huge Q. I saw nothing from Haslett that encourages me and I have a hard time believing this D sucked so much because Shanahan was limiting Haslett. We shall see.

You could give Griffin a wooden leg, and my bet is still on him becoming a better than average QB. What I'm looking most forward to is seeing how Gruden can develop the guy. He was pressing last season, almost all season and he wasn't ready to come back. I think we'll look back on season two as the anomaly, not his rookie year.
 
So, DeSean is forced to change his number, and reports say he will wear #11, bumping off Aldrick Robinson.
That's not the end of it, though.
Besides jersey number, DJ will have to also change his jersey name, to accommodate Rob Jackson, if he stays :)
 
Now, how does this play out in the depth chart.
The top 3 are pretty clear.
After that, it's pretty open.
Hankerson may be #4, but I think Moss could challenge him on that spot, if Hank continues to struggle.

1 - Garcon
2 - Jackson
3 - Roberts
4 - Hankerson
5 - Moss
6 - (if we keep 6) draft pick, UDFA, a young holdover from last year, like Robinson.
7 - maybe 7 ???
 
I hate to say it, but I think Moss is in danger of being released unless he really steps it up. We can't afford to let any promising youngsters go to keep a guy on board who's clearly on his last season or two. I love Moss, but his career is winding down.
 
I still would like to see Moss as a returner, especially since he's moved down on the totem pole, and no longer a potential injury risk to a high-rated player.
Jackson has been mentioned as a returner, but you don't want your #2 returning punts/kicks, especially a player of Jackson's calibre.
While everybody is disappointed in Moss's dropped balls last year, I still think he has enough speed to return, not to mention the experience and vet smarts about him, to make at least a solid, dependable returner.
We've already seen from last couple years, the risks of putting young guys out there (Chris Thompson, Nick Williams, etc) who make very bad decisions out of inexperience. And then there's the guys like Niles Paul, and the former Josh Morgan, who I believe have no business returning punts or kicks
 
I think Moss will make the team as well. How nice is it to finally have this problem?? As bad as last year was, the future is looking pretty bright
 
Moss should stay on the team, for the sole reason, that more than anyone on this team, he deserves a Super Bowl ring, after all he has endured and performed. So let him stay a year or 2, and get that ring with the Skins
 
I think Moss will definitely be here and Robinson will be the 1 that will be gone. They will keep Moss for his versatility and leadership, and Jackson makes Robinson very expendable.

Yes, and Hankerson may be the one to represent the "youth and future" at the position - assuming he makes the team, and doesn't continue to disappoint.
 
Maybe Moss can play safety.

If Hank can become that posession receiver in camp and pre-season, he'll make it. His hands and toughness have been questionable past couple years, if he doesn't step up, I think he's the odd man out. Robinson's speed alone and how he played late last season are going to help his case.
 
Hank and Tana both better be putting some miles on the teams jugs machine. That and or sneak some stickem on them hands.
 
They were pretty happy with Hank before he got hurt last season before he got hurt, and he's the only tall receiver in the group. I think he'll be back.
