  • Yes - but only if the contract strongly favors the Redskins.

  • No - he's not the kind of player this team needs.

  • I would prefer not, but will take a wait-and-see attitude and hope Gruden can 'coach him up'.

Correction by Redskins source. DeSean Jackson will not dine tonight with Bruce Allen or owner Dan Snyder, but HC Jay Gruden & some coaches

Oh yeah - and members of his gang mutha*****s!

Having ties to Oakland doesn't necessarily mean he has interest in them does it? .

Yes it does, according to this tweet by Rappoport, which indicates Jackson reached out to the Raiders

DeSean Jackson has a business decision.
Curious to see if his heart makes it.
Prerelease he put word out to #Raiders of his interest in them

Only Jackson and his agent knows what he's interested in. There are about a gazillion tweets out there today, most contradicting each other. I don't think he ends up in DC - because he's a 'me' guy and likely all he cares about is attention and money. And that'll be just fine with me. The discussions probably lasted long enough for him to ask for $12 million a year and a $20 million dollar signing bonus :)

I don't think he's worth what he is likely asking. I wouldn't pay him Garcon money but he probably expects 2-5mil more than Garcon money=PASS.

From the boys at Wapo.

For Redskins, bringing in DeSean Jackson is a no-brainer, character questions and all - The Washington Post

As long as the Washington Redskins are attempting to climb out of the NFC East basement, they will need a lot of luck. With wide receiver DeSean Jackson unexpectedly a free agent, they may have gotten some.

Signing DeSean Jackson would be the kind of mistake Redskins have finally started avoiding - The Washington Post

That’s when the old fears really began percolating, the fears about Washington ponying up the millions Philadelphia wouldn’t spend on its own players because the Eagles didn’t think they were worth it anymore.

If there is any football logic gleaned from his 15-year experience as an NFL owner, Dan Snyder should at least know: Don’t take the Eagles leftovers.

DON’T — you can use caps.

Only Jackson and his agent knows what he's interested in.

If we don't know what they're truly thinking, then can we ban the people who constantly post that Jackson would much prefer to play here, because he's primarily interested in "sticking it to the Eagles" twice a year, which is actually a much less reliable assumption or report, than Rappoport's tweet :)

I don't think anyone's speculation is any better than anyone else's Fear. You don't think Jackson would like to stick it to the Eagles twice a year? Sounds like a sure bet to me. But you may turn out to be 100% right. And Oakland would fit Jackson's, errr....'personality' like a glove.

Well, like you said, we don't know Jackson very well, personality-wise, which means we don't know where his priorities are.
This potential list of priorities could go in any possible order in Jackson's mind, for all we know and speculate

Revenge against former team
Going back to your geographical roots
Going to team with a more stable QB
Going to a team closer to being a contender
Money
Going to your boyhood's favorite team
Going to "Gangsta Town"
etc
etc
etc

If we sign Jackson, we can then focus our entire draft on safety, cbs and linemen.

It's mind-boggling, but possible that we at least hit on, and hopefully improved upon every single need we had before this FA started. That would be a success.

If we don't take Jackson, then we will likely use a higher pick on WR in the draft.......leaving a safety, CB or a lineman to be neglected.

NO matter how much you want it to happen, we can't fix every problem spot on the roster in one off season.

They were right about Tara Reid's boob job - I can't imagine they aren't right on this too :)

She had a boob job ? How did I miss that one

I keep hearing though that there are not a bevy of safeties in this draft as there are numbers at other positions.

My bet is we take a guy in Round 3 or 4 to play free safety down the road and use the #2 pick on a RT or top inside player for the OL that drops out of the first round.

Again, signing Jackson gives the Redskins a lot of flexibility with the draft picks come May.

Er... did we just sign Ryan Clark?

You've already written off Rambo/Jackson? We've apparently signed Clark, and with him being at the end of his career, obviously he's not in the 10 year plan of this team. With him spelling the 2 young guys, so they can work on the things they need to focus on, I think will help their development this year. I'm not so sure we even need to draft a safety this year with the hopes they step right in. If they see a late round guy they can jump at, and there's nothing better becoming an UFA or coming out of college for next season..so be it, but we still have 2 very young players on our team that shouldnt be completely discounted yet.

Sounds like if we get him, we're going to pay through the nose for him...

We paid Albert based on percentage of body fat, I'll take talent over that :doh1:
