Should the Redskins Sign WR Desean Jackson?

  • Yes - but only if the contract strongly favors the Redskins.

  • No - he's not the kind of player this team needs.

  • I would prefer not, but will take a wait-and-see attitude and hope Gruden can 'coach him up'.

Not that's there's anything wrong with that Mike...

If the price is right, I'm with you.

I have faith in Gruden and Griffin to keep him in line, and until someone gives me something other than he has a few freinds that are in gangs, or the person that leaked the report puts his name out there to back it up...
t, he's a punk. One we should avoid.

Me saying so, being who I am, should be enough to assure you that it is so.

You're welcome. :)

Well, hell. I vote to close this thread now. :)

I don't like his character anymore than anyone else does.

We have people on our roster that are significantly more scummy than Jackson is. Meriweather has more arrests than he does, to start. And Jackson is well above Meriweather in terms of quality of play.

If the gang stuff turns out to be BS and the price is right - why not? We need weapons.

I don't have the time, access or the inclination to do a background check on him and figure out what's true and what's not. I just hope our organization does.

The "It's all about the lines!!!!" people, welcome Desean with open arms.

If we don't sign Desean, we may not use that 2nd or 3rd rounder on a RT.

Give-and-take....tough choices being made.

It's not like the Skins are the only team that's interested.
There are, or at least have been, 9+ teams, in the hunt.
That should tell you something about whether there's evidence to back up, him being a problem player.
It certainly does not ring the same old tune of "Skins going after someone that nobody wants"

I didn't say you argued it. But you do keep ignoring it
Ummmmm, now you're just messing with me Henry.....

He just doesn't have the talent or brains for what we will probably **** up and give him if he comes here

That, and he's a massive asshat.

There's a reason teams aren't tripping over each other to have a shot at him, and it isn't just because he might have mental problems

not with the drama that wouldn't be absolutely guaranteed if he comes here.

there's his inevitable toddler-like fits he would throw

Jackson would cry like TO about not getting the ball enough

he would attack/blame Griffin, Griffin would throw to him even less, and the DeSean Jackson saga would take center stage in D.C.

I don't even think he would be ok. Not compared to what we could get at a lower cost both financially and drama-wise.

I will never cheer for him. If someone lacks character, and their talent doesn't match the hype, they're garbage as far as I'm concerned.

no head case is worth any price
I'll try better not to ignore the fact he may have mental issues

And with that, I give up.
Me too. You've effectively confused me into submission.

No, you big dufus. :)

That's not what I'm talking about. Good grief. :)

What I meant was I keep mentioning he's head case and you keep ignoring that I said it. At this point though it doesn't matter. I think our disagreement is really just whether or not he's even worth a look. I think he might be. You don't.

The end.

First off, he'll get offered more somewhere else. At least I hope to Buddha he does.

But if by some tragic aligning of the stars, he comes here for a lower budget contract, stays out of trouble, and has a big year, he'll be a hold out malcontent next off season.

And, if it works out, the FO will get minimum credit for making what those begging for him now will certainly say was a no-brainer decision.
But if it fails, they'll get 100% of the blame for not doing their due diligence.

I guess his Super Bowl rings have a lot of people mesmerized.

Oh wait.

Never mind.

I'm an extraordinary fortune teller.

And you bring up an excellent point.

If we sign Douchaan, kids will die!

Eagles Insider-

@GeoffMosherCSN: Jackson "a supremely talented football player whose biggest crime was his inability to endear himself to Kelly."

I can understand why you guys don't like him, but the more I think about Jackson's ability to stretch defenses, and what that would do for this offense, the more I think sign him up.

Hatcher and Jackson?

Well, either the Redskins are going to look mighty smart or the other teams in the East are going to be laughing at our expense.

I prefer to think that we'll be laughing at their expense. Two potential game-changers that will be primed to face our two most hated rivals.

Yes please.

Having ties to Oakland doesn't necessarily mean he has interest in them does it? Only he and his agent know what he is thinking.
